P1 to P6 is a MKV code.

P1 to P6 is "SEF Fail"

To reset this fault: - Fix cap or equipment attached to PORT P1.

P2 - SEF Fail - FAILED SUBSIDIARY EQUIPMENT FUNCTION - P2
To reset this fault: - Fix cap or equipment attached to PORT P2.

P3 - SEF Fail - FAILED SUBSIDIARY EQUIPMENT FUNCTION - P3
To reset this fault: - Fix cap or equipment attached to PORT P3.

P4 - SEF Fail - FAILED SUBSIDIARY EQUIPMENT FUNCTION - P4
To reset this fault: - Fix cap or equipment attached to PORT P4.

P5 - SEF Fail - FAILED SUBSIDIARY EQUIPMENT FUNCTION - P5
To reset this fault: - Fix cap or equipment attached to PORT P5, then turn
the reset key ON then OFF.

P6 - SEF Fail - FAILED SUBSIDIARY EQUIPMENT FUNCTION - P6.
To reset this fault: - Fix cap or equipment attached to PORT P6, then turn

It's a MVP machine running a mk6 xp board with the door and back plane mods done.

What causes these errors? They were not there untill I modified machine settings?

Also australian machine and board

That is the Lab Com Board
The MK6 board may not like the Lab Com  board.

I don't think they make one.
The MK6 uses a I/O board and
the Com board for a MK6 looks like a Computer Memory Sim .

Is that located on the main board of the mk6 or does it reside in the lab comms location?

Cheers

All your P1 - P6 errors are from the comms pcb the one on the right under the mainboard in the security cage,
there are 6 ports which link the machine to the government montoring system ( CMS ) which is P2 the other ports are for jackpot links etc.
If your ports have no plugs in them you will get those lockups appear, two choices you can bridge out the ports or get the blanking plugs which do the same.
EGM will not function until this has been done or you run QLD or NZ software which does not require the comms PCB.

Just short or jump pins 6&8. Pins 7&9 on each plug. Those are the pins to bypass
