I have an Aristocrat Kenny Rogers, The Gambler, video slot machine. The plate on the outside of the machine says....1997 and has a serial number, but the area where the model number should be, is blank. So, I don't know what model this is.
My machine is showing a 34 Coin Validator Fault, and I don't know how, or what to do to correct it. I am guessing, that the problem might be in the coin comparator, but I don't have another to swap out to try it. All of my CC-16 12V comparators have different wiring hookups and the boards inside are different. My 2 switches on the outside of the machine do nothing, as far as I am able to tell. Also, when the machine was working.....the area on the bill acceptor that shows what bills the machine takes would flash, but the green arrows would never come on when the machine was booted up. I had to disconnect the harness to the side of the bill acceptor momentarily, and then it would flash the green arrows and would only accept the $1 bill and the really old, old $20 bill. Any ideas on what I can do to correct these problems??? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Jerry

You have a Aristocrat MK 4 540 slot machine.
Here is the manual . I would check that the plugs are plugged into the right sockets.
The MK4 I have had the same problem and I found the plug for
the coin acceptor plugged into the wrong port on the back plane.
Make sure the ribbon cable from the coin acceptor is plugged it to the J13
on the back plane.
