Hi guys, please  Help Help Help

This machine used to be hooked up with other machines in the casino. Now I would love to make it work as a standalone at my game room!!!

Please see pics for more details. Its shows the error code "C9" and then it flashes every about 20 seconds "empty".  It has the Mikohn v.2.05 board installed, but I do not know how to get the coin-in signal to this board. Or how does it work anyway???

Appreciate any help!!!

Chris

Lots of help on this board if you search.  I have posted a file below that walks you thru most all of the settings you need.  You will need "PSP" to program the board.  You will also need a serial cable connection and an older computer that has that connection, that you will run the PSP program on.  You also need a keychip for your machine to set the progressive settings.  There are 2 grey buttons on the top right of your board (in your picture) that you use to change settings on the display.  "C9" is no communication with the machine.  The one place that messed me up was on programming that board (with the buttons), make sure you set one of the settings to "SA" which is stand alone.  Again all this is covered in the file from member r273 below.  The only item I am not sure on is your dual display setup.  I assume its similar and you just set them to different channels, but I have no experience there.  Good luck.

HE has a Cham II which is not capable of stand alone

He needds a Cham II+, can also say stand alone or SA on it.
it will have a more leds near the power connection and a J7 header connector (that is the input from the machine.

The CON2i is a linked progressive controller (don't forget the 'i' if your using this with an IGT machine).
Prices vary widely but I would typically put them in the $300 range.
The link controller off the bat can control up to 32 machines all sharing the same set of progressives.
These interface to the Cham II meter device that you already have. The Cham II has interfaces for up to 4 displays.

The Cham II+ is a standalone controller - doesn't look a lot diffferent than what you have and works for one machine.
They can be taken out of standalone mode and used with a CON2i so very flexible unit.
Typical cost for a ChamII+ is $75 some times the seller sells the meters separtely from the controller.

tks Jaym, now it is clear what I need. Hail

Does the ChamII support 2 displays with different values in the same machine?????

So, all I need for my standalone IGT S+ is:

- a ChamII standalone controller
- PSP program and serial cable

Correct?

Who sells these parts? Any ideas?

Here is PSP.  I used it to program my Cham II+,  I got my cable from Samron Slots.  Password for PSP is in r273 settings that I posted above.     Cool Thumbs-Up

I am not sure what Samron charges but the 9 pin cable you can quickly make yourself.
I took a off the shelf cheap 9 pin cable - straight through.
Bought some heat shrink tube
Got both from radio shack
I Cut the 9pin cable in 1/2 slid on the heat shrink and then spliced all the wires back together color for color.
I then shorted CTS and RTS (clear to send / ready to send)
Tested the cable
Then slid the heat shrink over the exposed wires and warmed it up to make it look professional.
