I am getting frequent Coin in Error after inserting a coin, it goes to the hopper. Besides going coin less what can I do to fix this problem? I have read a couple of items on the forum but I am confused.

Version- VS009VX0
Stepper 1&2- SG000129
Stepper Base- SB100187

I would appreciate any help, new S2000 owner.

Is this a quarter machine?  The most common problem I see with the optics is when the wrong size plastic coin guide is used.  Usually it's to big (originally for a $1 dollar coin) and a quarter is allowed to move to much left/right as it falls, causing the error.  In a jam, I have used a zip tie to make the opening smaller until I get the right size one...

Thanks,

Dan #2

Yes it is a quarter machine. I checked that by trying to put a dollar token through the guide......it didn't fit. Any other ideas? It will take a few quarters then give the error.

Insert Coin

Try #3 first, then #4 this...old post from Bunker...

1). Bad coin comparator. Try a KNOWN GOOD one.
2). Stuck rake. Could be binding against opening...or wiggle two gray wires...
3). Sensitivity dial too far clockwise. Turn all the way back counter clock-wise then turn clockwise a quarter of a turn.
4). Bad Sample Coin...replace with another one.

Coin-In optics could be okay because the rake is not opening.
They bypass the optics
and fall back into the tray.

He said coins go into hopper,
so it could be the optics.

I have tried everything but changing out the optics. The only optics I have is an S+. Will that work on an S2000? If not it time to find some parts. Thanks for helping, I appreciate what to look for.

Hi,

You still have to look at the insert.  The coin head where you insert coins is keeping the dollar coin from entering, not the insert.  That black insert in the picture is sandwiched between the optics.  S+ optics will not work in a S2000.

I took the Coin Comparator out and put a quarter through and tried to put a Dollar token through the black plastic that is sandwiched between the two optic boards. I guess I will be looking for some S2000 optics. Thanks for all the help.

This error was solved with a new optics board. Thanks to proten  and everyone else that replied.
