Pressing those three resets in the pic clears Game, Machine, and Support Rams. I do not think it would it be difficult to restore any corruption.

What is the actual function of this battery?
I would assume it keeps ram memory alive while machine is powered down.
If that's all it does, why would I care if it went dead when all I have to do is press three resets on power up to clear the rams?
No set or clear chips needed here.
Does the battery perform any other function?

Duh! I lose all my memory switch settings with a total clear. Would have to reset random nudge and third reel reach features everytime. I think I'll replace those batteries!  yes
