I was wondering if there is a dip switch setting on the board to let the player get more credits than 1000?  I have a Red white and blue machine.

What SP (game) chip do you have in the machine?

You can find out by either pulling the board (with the power off, of course.) and reading the number off the chip or by opening the door (with the power on) and pressing the white test button (next to the power switch) until you get to the paytable test 4 (displayed in the coins in window). The game chip number will display in the credits window.

-----------------
For older chips you set DIPs 1 and 2 to ON and then set the hopper limit in the setup menu. There are no separate settings for hopper, credit, and jackpot limits.
With newer chips the DIPs don't do anything and all of the different settings are in the setup menu.

Post back with your SP chip number.

You might also want to check out Rick's FAQ section. It has a lot of good information on the S+. yes

I have a SP731  with an SS3280   Once it hits a 1000 credits then it starts spitting out tokens out of the hopper.

I have a SP731

Hello!

I e-mailed you the PSR for SP731 - it explains some of the settings that are available to you...

You will need something newer than an SP731 if you want more than 1000 credits.  The recommended chip for your gametype is SP1271, it's very common and easy to obtain from just about any dealer.

You can go higher than 1000 credits with the sp731. To change the options you will need to make sure number 2 dipswitch is turned on, on the board. Then you will need to make sure you have no credits on the machine. If you have credits you cannot change your options. Then push the self test button inside the machine until number 7 appears in coins played. You should have a 1000 on your winner paid display. The number that is flashing can be changed by pushing the spin reel button. Once you have the number where you want it, from 0 to 9, then turn the jackpot reset key and it will move the flashing number to the next digit. Again push the spin reel button to increment the digit from 0-9. Continue to do this until you have the number in the winner paid display that you want. Then close the door and it will hold your setting. Good luck. You can change the credit limit for the hopper to read any number from 0-9999. April

I stand corrected (this is what happens when you AssUMe before really reading PSR), you can have a credit limit equal to your hopper limit which can be set to 9999 if your denom is .25 or less as there is a credit limit of $2,500.00 in this chip.  What you can't have here is a credit limit higher than a hopper limit, which will cause all pays to come out of the hopper.

Thanks for the correction april. applause applause applause

Hi April, it's been a long time!  wave wave Glad to have you back on the board. applause

Sorry to hear you're having troubles. I'm in a similar boat (the sinking kind - although it may be for different reasons), but hopefully things will get better in 2009 for everyone.
