My s2000 let out some smoke at least I was in the room and killed the power.
This was on the left side upper glass area on my super hot 7 upright. Not sure if it was the ticket printer or lamp driver board the reel lights went dim and the florescent light went out.So I pulled the ticket printer due to the smell of smoke it looks ok. I pulled the # one real it is a 5 real game in doing that the lights came back on all except the florescent over the reels. If I put the #1 back in the slot the lights will dim low again. I am still not sure where the smoke came out as of yet.

Lets go back in time...do you remember anything before the machine was turned on?
Or do you leave it on all the time?
Is there an exhaust fan stopped?
Check the wiring and male pins on the #1 reel too.
Something is shorted out.
The lamp driver board is located under/behind the reel tray towards the right side.
Try checking fuses too.

It sounds like you pulled the #1 reel while the power was on?
Try to avoid disconnecting things or plugging them in while the power is on.
That's an excellent way to burn out more stuff.

Unplug the small square white box on left side that the light above the reels go to (The Ballast) these will burn up and put the foulest smelling melted plastic smell inside the game and house. Unplug the connector with the wire heading to the game

I will try pulling the white box on the left side and check for smoke ..
I do leave my game on most all the time.
