Looking at a Jennings slot machine that will not spin the reels when the handle is pulled.  I found the handle switch to be bad, but shorting out the wires doesn't cause it to spin either.

Pulled the PCB and found someone had done a lot of repair to it, removing the battery and putting on a crappy replacement.  Plus, a jumper wire has come off the pcb (obviously added when the battery corrosion repair was done).  I can see that one end attached to the ground pin of a chip leg, but can't see where the other end attached.  Wonder if it's a ground return for the handle switch?  The coin switches work, so don't know if they used the same switch return.

Anyway, I'd like to see where the handle switch wire goes and how it's handled on the board so I can figure out why it's not working.  Any help would be appreciated.

And if anyone has a manual for this, pass it along?

Thanks...

Well, it's not a handle switch issue.

Okay, when I first turn the game on, I get both candles lit - top for Call Attendant.  Bottom for door open.  On the coin door there are lights lit for Call Attendant, Insert Coin, and Coin Accepted.  If I push the black button on the PCB or the reset key switch , The Call Attendant light goes out on both the coin door and the candle. Triggering the coin switch causes the 1st Coin light to light.  But the handle switch doesn't do anything.

Then I shut if off and turn it back on.  Now both candles are lit but only the Call Attendant light is lit on the coin door.  Insert Coin and Coin Accepted are off.  If I trigger the reset key switch, Insert Coin lights.  If I then push the black button, the Call Attendant lights go out.  This time when I trigger the coin switch, the Coin Accepted light comes on and the 1st Coin lights.  But the handle switch doesn't start the reels spinning

BUT - interestingly, sometimes it works.  If I turn it on and play one credit, sometimes triggering the handle switch causes the reels to spin.  If they stop on a winning line, the hopper pays out.  But then it won't let me play again.  It goes right back to the first scenario. It also won't do it if I do more than one credit.

I found a manual online and will start looking at it...
