These look like an awsome price at $24 right now....

The picture however is just a head. Its my understanding that the head is identical between 11 - 13.... and that the intelligence lives in the transport.

While these do say complete - I don't see a picture of the transport.

My recommendation is that if someone is getting serious about these that they ask the seller a question.....

That EBAY item counts as a head and transport - the rest is just the frame. The head is the removable block with the sensors, the transport is the bit with the motors and control board. It's a very good price.

These particular EBAY items are probably pulled from Aristocrat 540 machines - they have a special serial interface board and bezel that is only used in Aristocrat and Konami slots. You can see the green interface board in the side of the transport. This board also makes them run off 24V instead of the usual 12V. So they're not a plug-in replacement for most types of game, particularly not IGTs. If you pull off the interface board they're completely standard and can be used in any machine, but you would need to obtain the standard internal harness to finish the job. You can use the control board in the bottom to convert a WBA11 to a WBA13, but you would still need the harness because the connectors on the board are different from the WBA11. You can use a WBA13 in a game designed for WBA11 and then you would need a different internal harness, one that goes from the 20 pin connector on the WBA13-style control board to a WBA11-style 12 pin connector on the back. JCM makes both types.

To update a WBA 10 / 11 to a 12/ 13, you need to change the CPU board and the harnessing. The 10/11 uses a 12 pin JAE connector and the 12/13 use a 20 pin. These upgrades are sold as a kit that includes the CPU, a new stacker harness and a new machine side harness. The rest of the components remain the same. The 1x series (10, 11, 12, 13, 14 and 15) are used in the US, Japan and Australia. These have 3 Mag heads because those countries use Magnetic inks as a counterfeit deterrent. The rest of the world, uses very intricate pictures and different colors as their protection, so the 2x series (20,21,22,23,24 and 25) Have an optically enhanced head. Still retaining one mag head, but adding 5 more optical sensors to pick up these features.
The Machine doesn't care which model you use because the communications are the same.

If you found out that the List price from JCM Distributors is $300 for the IGT kit and looking for a better deal, I know a place that has the IGT WBA-13 Kit for 30% of that, and the WBA-12 IGT kit for $65, WMS WBA-12 kit for $75, Kit includes Board, BV Harness, Game Harness Pigtail
