I have a quick question that I think I already know the answer too.    I bought a top box and screen on eBay.  It arrived today and I plugged the screen into my working top box.  I got nothing - black - not even a pixel.

I put my screen back in - worked fine.

I then tried the entire top box - the one from eBay - again -nothing black like midnight.

Is there anything I can do or is it fried?  hissy fit

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300345534420&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT#ht_500wt_1129

I just heard from the seller:
"i dont say there working items i just list them at a 9.99 bid for parts from a casino call me"

and the number goes to a mailbox that is full.

For kicks you could try your known working display with the components from the eBay box -- if the eBay power supply and circuit boards work you at least got *something* out of it.  Glad to hear that he said he's going to refund.  That screen looked really burnt, anyway.

I had big issues with him long ago! He was my only negative ever on ebay, and the only Negative I ever gave! Just wants to sell, promise, and then flake out and support nothing at all. I bet the argument was a fun one though! This is a great time for me to renew my warning to others that was lost with the old site long ago. Just my opinions from my dealings with him on a machine purchase. Be sure to make sure he follows through, politely of course.

I did and it worked.  So the top box power supply and circuit board were ok.  I sent the whole thing back exactly packed the way I got it.  (thrown in a box with 2 pieces of hard foam)  I hope I get my money back and I'm only out the $20 it cost to mail it back.

I hope you sent it back with some type of tracking number!!!!

Otherwise he could claim that he never received it.

A little tip for anyone who ships something via the USPS.  If you use Priority Mail, you can get free delivery confirmation by printing your address label at home using their website's "click n ship" or Shipping Assistant software (it includes delivery confirmation with no extra fee).  https://sss-web.usps.com/cns/landing.do

Of course, if you don't ship it Priority, it doesn't matter...

Another "Little" tip about this whole topic is I think there are quite a few members/folks here that have not piped-up about this guy's stuff he pushes. The Williams stuff he threw on e-bay was some for the most part attractive to me but I would not bid on it knowing where and who had it.  I had to deal first hand with a item from a while back from the same seller that was VERY over-priced and repair for a friend of mine.   Make sure You guys ask if "it works' "as-is" "it's been pissed-on" etc. . This particular fella has been raking in the - money on the "assumtion" the items he has/had were good and worked.  I seen what the stuff was going for.  Just my 1/2 cents here. B.

Just a little heads up - this seller sent me a request to cancel the transaction.  I assume this is to prevent me from leaving negative feedback?
Well I refused to cancel the transaction until I got my money in my hand.  He told me that he sent a money order and I should have it within a week.    Scratch Head

Ok no problem I'm patient -  But why would he do this ?  He would loose the paypal fees and the fee for the money order.  Again  Scratch Head

Now here is where it gets nuts.  Today I received a refund from him on paypal WITH an additional $20 - my cost to ship the thing back (which I didn't ask for)

I can't figure out the angle but I'm very glad I got my money back.

I also bidded on the display, however, I only placed a low bid because I only wanted a spare. But,I did win two DBV-200's and a Sigma board(SG-300 ,with chips). All three worked perfect. This was the only time I've ever dealt with him. Just my thought's  bust gut laughing
