There is good show on the Bio Channel right now and it's on again tonight at 3am ET.

Here's a description for the show;

"Counterfeiting coins isn't easy--it's an art form! Diameter, thickness, magnetism, weight, design, even the precise mix of alloys--every element of the coin must be perfectly replicated. That means taking on the craftsmanship that the US Mint took years to develop, including anti-counterfeiting marks like "hidden grooves" and uniquely serrated edges. Most wannabe counterfeiters quickly realize they're no match for the US Mint--and often satisfy themselves with crude tokens that might stretch their winnings by a buck or two. But not Louis Colavecchio...not by a long shot!"

Amazing what this guy did and went through just to beat the casino's! Not to mention how much money he invested in equipment. Crazy!!   arrow

I saw this show about three months ago. It snuck up on me again. Wish I'd seen it coming earlier so I could have posted earlier.
It's a good episode! In the mid 1990's this guy spends well over $80,000 to get the equipment to stamp his own $10 tokens. His first attempt fails because his uses dissimilar metals and the comparitors reject them. He gets the right alloys and begins stamping his own tokens. Samples of his tokens were sent to the mint who made the casino's tokens and they couldn't tell the difference. I won't give away anymore about the show.

Pretty good show. It should reappear on BIO in about three months.
