Can I get a little insight on how much difference I will actually see by changing the SS chips  to a lower percentage by about 10%  Can I expect lower payouts or just fewer Pay outs  Thanks

The normal max/min range of SS% chips is about just that - 10%.
But some are as low as 85% (for the player).
All S+  SS reel chips pretty much follow  the award glass paytables.
So, basically, harder chips usually give you fewer "payouts"...but
on the other hand, I've seen "harder" chips pay the smaller payouts more often.
So, it pretty much varies depending on what game you have.

When you say harder chips I assume you mean the lower percentage chip right.  Also from what you said I can assume the lower the percentage the fewer  times I may see a larger payout but I may get smaller pays more often. Is that what I can expect pretty much.  Triing to decide if I should bother  changing at all  . Have three games w  a 94  a 95 and 97.5

What are the your three SS chip's numbers?

For example your 97.5% chip pays the player 97.5%.
The 94% chip pays the player 94%...LOL...which ones would you like to play with? rotflmao

The "house" is getting only between 2-1/2% (That's with your 97.5% chip) to 6% (the 94% chip).
So, yeah!, I believe the "harder" chip would be the 94% chip, wouldn't you agree?

IGT puts out PAR sheets on these chips...
this information gives you the breakdown on your chips based on 10,000,000 (That's right,... TEN MILLION ) pulls.
So, if you EVER hit the Jackpot in your lifetime...please let us know! yes
However, we need to know what the numbers on your chips are in order to help you any further...

Has anyone tried making their own percentage chip? (programming a whole new table into the proms).

I've heard rumors that it's been accomplished.  You'd basically have to reverse-engineer the data on the chip to do it.  propeller

Just a note on the differences between the payout percentages.  The differences are typically in the middle awards.  The lower chips have a lower frequency of the middle end awards like triple single bars, tripe any bars, double cherries, etc.  The top awards are rarely affected between chips, it's only the middle to low range awards.  That being said, on the LOOOOOONNNNNNGGG run, a higher percentage chip will let you play longer on the same bankroll, than a lower percentage chip, but in the end, statistically you will always lose.
