Is there a way to keep the bell from ringing when a coin is inserted, but still have it go off when a jackpot is hit?

Hi Slotter and welcome to the forum.

Do you mean the chime?  All my Ballys E-1000s have a chime when coins are inserted.  I don't think you can program the chime to stop but you can just disconnect the plug from the chime in the top box. If its the bell you're talking about you can only change how the bell ring when you win.  The DIP switches on the CPU board control this but its a little different for each games allowing it to ring on all wins or only on big wins. If you fiddle around with your DIPs be sure to write down what you stated with.  Good luck.
