I have 2 WBA Bill Acceptor heads that don't work. By this I mean they will not allow the Bill Acceptor to cycle during the machine start up and will not take money. I took both of them apart to clean and inspect them and found nothing obvious to my eyes that could be wrong. No burnt boards or broken wires. The 2 in question were checked on known good transports, they did nothing Scratch Head. Is there a common problem with them that can be repaired or are they junk/spare parts?? If they are not repairable can just the Bill Acceptor head be bought or am I looking at 2 whole Bill Acceptors...

Thanks Gary

PS... I'm really having a good time learning these S2000 machines.. I've been working on the older Ballys for 5-7 years now and needed a new challenge..   Crazy  I did find out that once I got my Crystal 7's up and working that it has the Multidenom feature, but this ones different.. There were up to 12 different settings for the Multidenom.. I ended setting up 5 and disabled the other ones.. I thought there were only 4 setting for the Multidenom feature??

how do you go about getting more than 4 multi denoms? Is it a matter of having a certain version chip or a certain game 1 and 2 chips? Also, i have noticed upon setting up one of my machines, it allows me to set it  for more than just 3000.00, for money in. Is that associated with the version and game chips?

Thanks,

David

Your version chip and the jurisdictional software in it determine the number of denom selections allowed and the maximum it will allow for a BV limit. I had a Double Diamond awhile back that had 13 denom options. What version chips are you guys using in each case?

The Version chip number is,  VS009GX0 08/24/00 (1-1001) 2000 IGT NMI.  It has Stepper Game 1-2 SG000198 08/22/03 (2-080).

Hope that helps...

Gary

I don't beleive the game chips have a whole lot of effect here, I think the version chips make the big descisions, but I could be wrong. it's happened before frying pan As far as repairing bad heads? If you have to learn how to do it then it'll be a pain in the a$$ and maybe not cost effective. Place a classified ad on the site here and see what pops up. Generally I would think you can find updated heads for $30 ea give or take. I've tried 3in1 oil on bv and transprot assemblies with very good results, but I've been doing it for years on similar applications. The key id to use just enough oil, Good Luck

Did you watch Randy Fromm's Youtube videos of a JCM tech explaining everything you might ever want to know about the WBA?

This thread points to part 1 of 4 and that will point to the rest once you're on Youtube. There is an extensive section covering the unit's self diagnostics. The WBA is supposed to be capable of diagnosing a problem down to the specific causal component(s).
