This is an EVO machine I turn on machine and it has self test on screen. I install clear chip and set dips and still says self test on screen need help     Paul

It sounds like a main board issue.  Still I would check for bent pins at the connector and the battery voltage.

Slotmaster (who types quicker than me) make a good point about the eproms.  The auto test is the monitor test.  when you boot the machine without the main board it will show this screen.  Check all of the jumpers/dips to ensure they are set correctly(on a gamemaker, this will happen if the jumpers next to the mains aren't set), Can't remember the jumpers on the evo.

No jumpers like on the game maker by the eproms this is a lil abner  game the dips on dip 1  are dip 1 to 6 are on and 7and 8 are off when i try to clear I install chip in P9 and dip 8 on I even tried 7and 8 on If i pull board and start machine I get a flashing blue background behind the auto test If i try another game do i change  MO   M1  and P7    PaUL
