I have a 12 error code on an IGT S (not plus) machine.
The battery is below the 2.9V and needs replaced.

My questions is, When replacing a battery on a S machine does it require a RAM clear chip like the S plus?
I know for sure the the older M series did not require a clear chip.

Just replace the battery and all should clear. No clear should be required if all was working before the 12 error and no chips were changed.

Thanks coorslight115  applause applause

You were correct.
So for future reference here, an IGT M and S machine does not need a clear chip after a battery change. Professor
