I have a VLC "Winning Touch" machine that when you power it on, it comes up in a tilt condition.  Turning the attendant key does get me into the menu, but there aren't any simple options to reset the problem.

Here's the error on the screen:

Quote
TEMPORARILY
OUT OF ORDER

21
45 - CREDIT BALANCE FAULT

The manual provides the following tidbit about the error -- "VGM" stands for Video Gaming Machine -- the machine itself:

Quote
This error results when the credit balance on the VGM exceeds or appears to exceed a preset fixed value.  VLC Customer Support can assist in determining the actual credit value on the VGM.

1) Cycle Power

2) If the error condition persists, provide VLC Customer Support with a copy of a full audit ticket printed after the fault occurred.
Replace the main logic board.

Short of replacing the main logic board (I'm not a casino and don't have them just sitting on a shelf ready to go!), is there anything that can be done to fix this?

Well, as a follow-up, a "Credit Balance Fault" can be cleared with a RAM clear chip.

Collecting Antique Slots Since 1969

I will be picking up a VLC Winning Touch in the morning that is displaying the following error message:

RESET FAIL
   5
CRITICAL RAM INTEGRITY ERROR

What is the initial reset procedure that I should try  before following the advance instruction's above?

The seller says it was working but has been sitting for a few years so i suppose there will be battery issues involved.
Never had one of these before.  Any advice about game chip availability or reliability of the machine in general?

Any manuals available anywhere?

Thanks in advance,
Mark
