The BIG TIMES is working great, thanks again everyone. BUT.................... while I have your attention, listen to this, LMAO
Last night I was playing my S2000 DOUBLE RED WHITE & BLUE and all of a sudden the reels stopped lighting up. ARGHHHHHHHHHHHH

ALSO, my Bally Alpha Mystic Lamp is acting up. I dont know how many of you have a Bally, but when you turn them on, the reels spin and grunt like a sob...
The reels should NOT GRUNT WHEN YOU PLAY THE MACHINE. While I'm playing my Mystic Lamp, the reels go from a golden silence to a very loud grunt.
It actually sounds like it's going into reel tilt, which it has done numerous times.... WTH is going on here. LOL.

Any suggestions for either problem?

On the S2000 RW&B, check the connectors on the harness that runs from the
reels to the small reel driver board behind the reel tray on the wall behind the cash box.
Also, check the connectors that run from that small driver to elsewhere.
The receptor pins pins might be getting old and not making good contact
on the male pins in the socket housings. Make sense?
Anyways, It's amazing sometimes how things work so much better
just by unplugging and re-plugging a connector.
I call it "pin fatigue"...lol

Watch out for that little hot bulb back there!
It likes to make you shout "EYE-YA!!" or "Ouch!!"     rotflmao
( Depends on what your burning skin cells makes you say...)

I'd start a new thread in the Bally section for your other machine...
The Bally guys will have all the answers for you in there!

Mark, just to clarify, the board mounted to the badk of the machine is the backlight controller. The reel driver board, such as it is, is the motherboard on S2000's. The machine can live without one, but not the other yes

The small board back there would be called the "Backlight Controller" board...okay...I got it!!! thanks!

It turns out it was a just a blown fuse on the motherboard. (Those "blue thing-a-ma-jigs")
Uh...me & Buzz we're just shooting the bull..... rotflmao  arrow
We could probably do the same thing using PM messaging but that just wouldn't be the same right? lol

Sorry, but I have to laugh........ Last post on this thread for me, promise!

I opened up Big Times and Red White & Blue just to see if both reel boards were the same. I took all the reels out of Big Times first, then proceeded to pull the reels out of Red White & Blue.
I have been having trouble with Red White & Blue with very slow spinning reels forever. WELL....., LOL

I proceeded to look at the board on Red White & Blue first. I think I discovered the cause of both problems with RWB ( reels have been spinning very slowly & now the reel lights )

ONE OF THE WIRES WERE JUST HANGING THERE, LOL. I thought to myself, "NO" "Could something so simple have caused both of the problem with RWB?"
Well, after my Big Times problems, I have to say I was hesitant to plug the connector in. After all, look at what I went through just by the slightest brush of a wire on the door of my Big Boy.
Well, I bit the bullet, plugged the connector in, ( Then, while holding my breath, turned on the power )
WOW......... I   HAVE BACKLIT REELS! and the reels spin FASTER .............. LMAO
This came from the person I bought it from this way. Even I couldnt plug A CABLE IN THAT HAS A PRONG TO KEEP IT CONNECTED and not get the prong to hold it in engaged......
AHHHH........

I've aged 3 years in the 3 months I've had slot machines, but at least it's fun, LOL.

Things can only be uphill from here, right? RIGHT? RIGHT!!!!!?

Actually it was a 4 wire connector. Orange, Black, Black/Red & Black/Orange I believe....
