All looks pretty standard to me aside from that "tournament output pulses" screen, but that seems to be all progressive stuff. Gotta look thru the on line game bible and see about the chips. Also don't worry at all about removing the board and tray. Just make sure the power is off when you do so and just dont slam it around like there's no tomorrow and you have nothing to worry about! Keep us posted as to whether any other screens show up when the timer is at 0 or after a reset Smiley Keep us posted, we'll get this!

Well I do see your DDB on the list at the top. Anyone know about that data chip? Maybe that's the one allowing regular and tourney play both? Now we just gotta figre out what exactly ya did to get it to switch modes lol. We'll get it!

Great info, especially the pictures of the chips -- trying to research right now, but I suspect that what Rep was getting at (except I think he meant the program chip) may be right in that it has the tournament option.

Bottom line is that we'll get you up and running -- if nothing else we'll send you a new non-tournament chip program chip!  Smiley

Ugh! Program indeed.  Duh! I'm a living mess aren't I? lol  frying pan Just thinking here for a bit, maybe there's certain sets that are both? And thru a certain special procedure (not blatantly obvious thru the screens or anything) you can switch between the 2 modes and get it into tourn mode? Maybe dan somehow did that without realizing it? A long shot for sure but just some thoughts as I was thinking here... Also on a side note I noticed your little countdown in your sig knagl. Just going to Vegas for vaca? Just funny to see, I'm going on the 9th of May.... The national bowling tourney is in Vegas this year, we fly there on the 9th Smiley

My mind is such mush right now that I'm not even sure anymore - maybe it is in the Data chip.   arrow

I suspect that yes, one is able to enable the tournament mode or disable it and play it as a normal machine (much like the S+ tournament games).

My trip isn't confirmed yet (ie. I haven't bought airfare yet), but it's looking pretty good.  Where are you bowling at?

lol, it's a 50/50 shot either way. It's in one of them Cheesy I didn't realize that it was able to be enabled/disabled. I just figured when the chip was in it was in tourney mode. But if that's true for the S+ it should be for the PE+ also I would assume since they're so similar. I just paid for the airfare a few weeks ago, gotta call my slot host out eas... erm... in area 51 here Cheesy and see what they can do as far as comped rooms go. Would be neat if you're out there too! We're at the Cashman Center which is off the strip from what I was told. It's just a convention center where they installed 60 lanes. The do this yearly (aside from when we go to Reno since the bowling stadium is there) the rent a convention center and build lanes inside it. Normally there's only 48, they were going with 56 this year but I heard they put 60 in. Rightfully so they're expecting a good turnout

Resistance is futile. You will be emulated.

OK, so I just happen to have these chips and put them in MAME to mess around with the settings.  At first I tried to mimic the S+ way of doing things with the jackpot reset key and spin button but it didn't work.  But the following DOES work:

PE+ Tournament Mode:
1) Turn and Hold the Jackpot Reset Key
2) While Jackpot Reset Key is held, press the "Change Request" button

The game should flip between tournament and standard mode (and vice-versa).  You do not have to finish the tournament countdown clock, you can do it right away.

Mystery solved!

Wow! Neat! You're the man Stol! Smiley Glad you're back and running normally Dan. I guess I was kinda right, it was a certain combo to get it into and out of tournament mode, not that I knew the jackpot reset and change request would do it. Cool stuff though! Great job! Smiley

I'll dig around with some other sets I have and see if I can figure out some details.

Some tournament setup screens:

Awesome stuff.  I wish I could give you +100 karma.   applause applause applause

FWIW, with the S+ tournament stuff you could do time, credits, or both.  If you set credits to zero, for example, you'd get to play as much as you can within the set time period.  I don't know if it works the same way with the PE+, but I'd think it might.

Very possibly so bud, I've never gotten my hands on any tourney software but I'm pretty sure it would work that way. Great stuff! Smiley
