We used meek ol' sodium back in our day. Cover in a thin layer of vaseline and flush. Then wait for the  censored.

Let's review, class:

Lithium      Li                yawn
Sodium     Na               hmmm    Wasn't Me
Potassium  K                stand back
Rubidium   Rb               OMG
Caesium    Cs               RUN FOR IT
Francium   Fr                NUKE   No, really. It's Radioactive (apparently frankiem and franseim are both correct)

Okay, technically, Rubidium is radioactive, too.

QUIZ:
Caesium (28.44°C or 83.19°F) and Mercury (-38.83°C or -37.89°F) are two metals that are liquid at or below body temperature (37°C or 98.6°F).
There is one more. Can you name it?

hints
Francium would be another (27°C or 81°F), but has so short a half-life that it cannot be maintained.
Rubidium (39.31°C or 102.76°F) is close, but no cigar
It isn't any element listed in this post.

Melting point is: 29.76°C or 85.57°F

Gallium has one of the largest liquid ranges of any metal. It doesn't boil until 2204°C or 3999°F !! That makes it useful in high-temperature thermometers where mercury would boil. Mercury boils at only 356.73°C or 674.11°F.

I was very impressed by the skill of such a pilot and I did a little checking.
The pilot was listed as James Andersson a pilot in the Red Bull races.
I checked the Red Bull web site and no pilot by that name exist.
It turns out to be an advertising stunt for the clothing maker  KillaThrill
http://www.killathrill.com/start.action

The same video production company that did this video has also produced this one.
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/CivSgzxFcdg&rel=0" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/v/CivSgzxFcdg&rel=0</a>

I did see where this idea may have originated from. This guy was very skilled and calm when he lost the wing on his R/C airplane.
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/SsNIhBlyepc&rel=0" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/v/SsNIhBlyepc&rel=0</a>

I still believe that the guy's that did these spoof video are very talented people and know how to create a buzz.  applause applause applause

GREAT Job and Good Work Neonkiss for digging into this. Hail applause Hail
I agree, spoof or not...this is still a tantalizing and amazing video. yes
Some time back I had info & pics of an F-16 or F-15 (can't remember Duh! CRS  Duh!) that had lost a wing but actually made it back
to the aircraft carrier. Clearly, as seen in the RC video, this is a possibility. RC is subject to the same physics as full-scale. yes Although
this would in deed take one hell of a pilot who is able to suppress emotion and react logically in a horrendous situation. The pilot in the
F-16 incident knew the plane was damaged but could not tell the extent....I think that helped significantly or else logic would have
dictated "eject, eject, eject".
James Andersson IS an actual pilot and you can find him in a Google search. He has as a website at http://www.jamesandersson.com/
While I agree this is a spoof, ( http://www.hoax-slayer.com/one-wing-plane-landing-video.shtml ), it IS one heck of a video. yes applause

K+ to you for shedding some light on this! applause applause applause     (still cool as heck though)

During my digging through the web pages I did see the site for James Andersson. It was reported that this site was put up to back up the  myth. I was looking at his site and under the NEWS tab you see this statement.
"Jimmy’s aircraft shows an irregular throttle response during training, hence his initial decision against further participation in flight events and competitions.

A little later it turns out that this was the right decision: The fuel pump had been assembled incorrectly causing an irregular supply to the combustion chambers which could have led to engine failure in the upper G-force area during flight maneuvers.

As soon as the spare parts have arrived and Jimmy has fixed the aircraft, further news about Air Races will follow! "

During my younger years, I worked for 12 years providing aircraft parts for an FAA approved repair station. Canceling a race because you can't find another fuel pump is total B.S.
When you have sponsors and mechanics that maintain your aircraft broken parts are only hours away. Parts like fuel pumps and magnetos would be items you would keep on hand.

I also found that video you were talking about, so I'll post it here.

I Canada sometimes we get freezing rain in the winter, and the radio stations can over dramatize things,

This is a callers response to that

By the way our temperatures are in Celsius so +2 is around 36 degrees Fahrenheit, witch is considered warm in the winter.
