I didn't know that the [F1 2A 24V] IC component was a fuse TZ.
Great information!  Hail
I would definitely check that component.
Should it be burned out, that would explain why his monitor doesn't light up.

My question to you would be this though....

With the leads of a multimeter touching both sides of the fuse ,
while it's soldered to the board, would that be an accurate way to
test that fuse for continuity?
Or should John be looking for a specific reading number/figure on his multimeter?.

John - Leave the LCD for now. Locate the inverter board and test the fuse. I am hoping its something as simple as the the fuse thats out.

SB - Set your multimeter to continuity (buzzer) and touch both ends of the Surface mount fuse (Make sure power is off). It should show 0 ohms and give a aidible signal. If not its built in smoke has been released  Tongue Out

The fuse looks clean..here is a photo....There are numbers on the fuse 1 to 6...When I touch 3 and 6 and 1 and 2... I hear the beep...when I touch other numbers I get nothing...does that help?

Hello John

Easiest way is to check it as per pic. Mulimtere should be set to ohms (If it has a audible continuity test function it makes it a bit easier.)

When I touched both sides/ends of the fuse with the leads....I do not get a sound...please see previous posting...when I touched certain numbers I did...

If the fuse is bad...where can I get a replacement??

Hi

Ok so it looks like the fuse has popped. If you are lucky its only the fuse that popped and nothing else on the inverter board and repair will cost you a dollar or two (assuming you have the tools to do this) Otherwise you can take it to a electronics repair shop and they should be able to assist. If this does not work there may be further problems with the inverter or the LCD panel itself. If that is the case it could get expensive / complicated and I would consider getting a second hand assembly for one of the vendors listed on NLG.

The pads you have checked are there automated probe testing jigs that check the board during production.

Regards
Ian

You should name him.
The name Marty comes to mind... Marty McFly.. arrow  or Adam Ant.. frying pan  or if you're a big Python fan, then name him Eric.  propeller

I think that's great!
I'd like to add that if anyone else is having this problem ( or expects to have it...lol)
Johntoomanynumbers has this same inverter board for sale at his Rudy's website.
I'd urge one and all Vision owner's to pick one up as a spare for later on!  yes

If I see it listed for more than a few more days - I will pick it up myself! lol
