Hi,

Anyone have a clue on what could be the problem on BB2 with OLED comm failure ... (intermitent problem)
The USB cable have been changed and the problem is on the oled panel. Main CPU ok.

Any schematics for the oled panel board or part on board to change to sove the problem.

thanks

First use the software to test the OLED deck. Test each Module one at a time, the easyiest problem could be the the deck has lost or has corrupt data. Solution reload data. OS's 14xx & below will use firmware 2.03, OS's 16xx will use firmware 3.02 or 3.03.

Other problem could be the Cap on the bottom of the board is bad or has loose connection

The software that I am talking about is the software that loads the firmware to the OLED deck. it is easier to load the firmware or test in the machine. It doesnt really matter, just as long as you have power to the OLED Deck.

I do know that these deck are very fussy. They do not like abuse. They do not like any type or water or drink spills. You can also try and take the board apart, Look at the actuator and springs. and clean all the contacts.

In case the above posts do not fix the communication issue with your button panel, you should also try to replace the usb controller chip at U6 on the board. Where firmware upload has failed, this has fixed others. Install a new U6 and reinstall the firmware using the afore mentioned tool.
