I have a S+ that someone else messed with. Circuit board was installed while power on and it blew the board. I switched the chips to another board. Started out as the 61, I got it to 61-1 but turning the key did not do anything. I by-passed the door switch and the bv switch and then took the glass out for aligning the door optics. Still no change when turning the key. And yes the door was closed. Finally put the board in another machine and it cleared. Put it back in machine had the 65-1 then it acted normal and spun reels and was ready for play. Then there was a ding like it paid a coin and 3100 alternating with 1 displayed and 0 in coins played. I tried switching the hopper but 3100 will not go away. Does it need a CLEAR? Does anyone repair boards as my spare is now being used.

Check and make sure that there is nothing blocking the coin out optic inside the hopper or possible a coin is wedged in at the optic.

Did you open , then close the door and then turn the reset key?

Does the candle go out after you close the door, or is it still showing door open?  If it doesn't detect the door closure, the 3100 will not clear.
If all else fails, then run the diagnostic tests to check the door optics and other switch's.

I put the board in another machine and it worked and reset. Put back in original machine but did not put hopper back in. I used the credit button on coin acceptor and played a couple spins. Them 3200 came up without a hopper. This machine had a progressive and has all kind of extra wiring not plugged into anything. Also on the back box where the board goes it has a keyed switch. I have never seen this before. It is not spring loaded like the reset.

Finally found the problem with the optic's. Someone before me had replaced them and had them reversed. I switched the sensor's and like majic all reset. I can't believe it took so long for the wire colors to jump out at me. Another one for my trouble shooting book.
