I have an E-2209 that gives me a 41 code after the arm has been pulled. The reels dont lock. If I run the reader test, all of the readers are working correctly. If I remove the reels and cycle the machine, it works perfectly (not sure if this has anything to do with it). So does anyone have any idea what the problem could be??

Thanks,
Maverick

Is the gap between the reel reader and the reel set to about 1/16th inch on the left side.  I had the same problem and was told about this and this site.  Mine was off and correcting the gap fixed the problem.

I checked the cam switches and they seem to be working fine. If they were the problem, wouldnt I get the 41 code even when the reels are removed?

Tried adjusting the readers and that doesnt seem to work either.

Try moving the number 1 reader to the 2nd or 3rd position to see if the code changes. 42 would be bad reader in second position. 43 would be the third one. If it moves the reel reader has to be repaired.

OK......I finally figured this out. Apparently the number 1 reel was not spinning fast enough! I took apart the reels and lubed the bearings. Put it all back together and made sure it had a cool spin on it...an VOILA!!! No more 41 code. Now it just wont pay-out!!!
Thanks everyone for the help!!!

Glad you were able to figure it out. Check to see if your hopper motor and gear box spin freely and check the fuse on the hopper. Its possible that you could have a bad hopper control board. Check the large round diodes on the top of the control board number 11 & 12 i think. They dry out and will crack causing the board to fail. The other thing is that the mac15 or is it the Mac16 trac on the top of the board also go bad.  Can you do any of the machine tests using the buttons on the hopper board?

Yep....I can run all of the tests from the board! I can run the hopper test and it will just sit there until throwing the "Hopper Empty" error code. But I can manually trip the relay 10 times and it doesnt error.
