Can anyone give me instruction on how to change games on an IGT S2000. I've changed games multiple times in the S Plus but never on the 2000. This is my first posting so not quite sure how this works.

What game is in the machine now? What are you switching to? How many lines and coins playable on each game? What SB, SG and version chips are you using? It may just be a matter of swapping the glass, strips, SB chip and going through a couple of resets. Make sure you have 0 credits on the machine before you start

Basically the glass and reel strips are done the same as on the S+
The back lit reels are easier to slip strips in once you done it a few times
note if you have back lit strips and are changing to non back lit strips make sure they are the same width or use non back lit S2000 reels.
Some S+ reel strips do not fit the back lit reels If they are gray backed they are considered vision strips same platform as an S2000 and normally fit the back lit reels

Now the hard part is determining if you are using a SB001000 Base chip, with a S+ reel chip (SS) or using theme specific Base Chip
The base is only 40 pin DIP chip on the MPU
If you are using S+ reel chips (SS) then you just swap them like you would in a S+
If both games came with theme specific base chips you change them
Base chips are usually labeled SB and a six digit number that starts with 0 or 1
if it not an IGT original chip then it may be labeled differently
the reset is a bit easier than a S+ (But you better be quick with the JP reset key or you might wake the dead when the 2 tone alarm starts sounding with the door open.

Once you change the chip involved
If you got lucky and also received a set of SG000363 Game chips and your MPU has something different plan on changing them as well
You might want a key chip in case you have to adjust some settings under 7 Key Config Menu

The machine once it gets done with the memory test will either say call attendant (Door closed) or state RAM Error and start the alarm (door open)

Turn the jackpot key lyou will need to turn it a few times) but look at each message at some point the VFD will display which ever chip you changed has a CRC error and a code
you will need to turn the jackpot key until the machine shows press the attendant button (it the button on the MPU) for 2-3 seconds you will know you held it long enough if the message changed after you released it
the new message will be Close the Main Door. all you really have to do is let it see the door closed for a few seconds
IF there are no other System or RAM Errors the machine will spin up the reels and land them on a non winning combo just like the S+ does but in reverse order 3 2 1

now depending on which SG chips you will have to make adjustments to sound settings and maybe some other settings
Note when you change games on a S2000 you can do so with credits on the machine it will wipe them due to the Base chip or SS chip being changed.
