First, I got the S+ game working in the Vision machine thanks to this thread ...  Clap Hail
http://newlifegames.net/nlg/index.php?topic=11690.0

Then, I ordered the new 7-segment display that includes the multi-denom touch panel in it.  After installing, I get "7-Segment Display Mismatch".  So, I keyed it with 17 and got a message unable to access keychip (or something like that).

So, can this really be done? Help

Chips are ...
Version VS011GX0
Stepper SG000312
Base SB001000
Theme SS7845 (Ten Times Pay)

Thanks!  :Dave wave

Any credits on the machine? Not sure if multidenom will work with that SS chip, but I do know you need a VS011GX1 version chip for multidenom. My first suggestion would be to get the proper S2000 SB chip and ditch the SS chip and the SB001000. Depending on the MPU, you may also need a key31. Lots of questions and only one answer, sorry

Yes, there were credits on the machine.  I should have known better!   slap Spank pie in face

Would these then be the right chips ...

Version VS011GX1
Stepper SG000312
Base SB100069 (10X pay for S2K)
Theme SS7846 (93% payout for 10x 2C)

Thanks!!! Hail Hail Hail

If that's the correct SB for 10X Pay S2000, then yes. I don't know if there were 2cn and 3cn versions of that chip. You would need to eliminate the SS chip from that line-up also and if you don't have it already, pick up a MMLII sound board and DSV0042 sound simm to get the enhanced sounds with the new SB

Thanks again for the quick replies!  I didn't know that an SB could eliminate the need for an SS (I know nothing about S+/S2000/Vision).  That's cool.  And yes, I have the MMII with DSV0042.  I added that a couple of weeks ago.   yes

I'll give that a try and post results.  Thanks again!

Live and learn, you'll be alright. Let us know if you have any issues and while you're buying chips anyway you might upgrade to a key31 and a clear97.

Dave I'm gonna assume that you do not have a LCD monitor in the top box, so I think what you have is a Vision ready machine.  I have a SB100069 and a VS011GX1 I can mail you tomorrow. ( Let me know )

For what it's worth, the only times you will use a SS chip is when you can't find the proper SB chip and have to use a SB001000. Not a whole lot of them but some games themes IGT never made a SB chip for them.

SS chips will work in a multi-denom setup, just stuck with one payback percentage.

FYI A Vision ready is just an early S2000, with some differences.
I think have listed them before
I have a thread on here about upgrading my vision ready to a S2000.
mainly harnesses, top boxes(9" and Round Top), button deck, modified cabinet for printer next to reel 3 and power supply relocation them studs got in the way.
