I want to change my maximum hopper payout and machine lockup settings. I want my machine to lockup on jp's of 1000 or more, and play the jp music.... And just turn the reset key to add the credits. I also want to change the maximum credits to hold 9999. I know there are 4 sets of numbers that come up 1000 when making the settings, I just don't know what changes what... I have looked for the settings on this site and can't find them, I know they have got to be on here somewhere. Sorry for asking if its already posted somewhere.
Thanks for your time.

By any chance, do you know what chips you have? Specifically the SP game chip?
Go to this link and then tell us what you've got.>>>

Open the door, press the little white "Test" button until you see Page<7> pop up then
use the "Reset" key to move the blinking number and
hit the "Spin" button to change the setting.
Once you set it, hit the "Test" button to go to the next Page...

SP872 instructions>>>

Hopper Limit <7>   Programmable only if DIP switches 1 and 2 are set for self test selection
(on position); otherwise, this page is for display purposes only.
Determines when hand pays and hopper pays occur.
For example, if the hopper limit is set to 500 coins, the machine pays wins as follows:
Credits Accumulated Single Win Amount Action
0 600 Hand pay 600  400 200 Hopper pay 200

Bill Acceptor Credit Limit <7>   Determines the maximum amount of credits that
can be accumulated before the bill acceptor is disabled.
The limit must be less than the hopper limit or $2,500, whichever is less.

Partial Pay Selection <8>   Determines the amount of coins to be paid from the hopper
when a jackpot is hit, before a hand-pay condition occurs.
The value cannot exceed the hopper limit.

SP1271 instructions>>>

Hopper Limit <7> [1]   Determines when hand pays and hopper pays occur.

Lower Jackpot Limit <7> [2]   Any single win over this limit causes the machine
to go to a hand-pay condition.
For example, this limit must be set to 1,199 to lock up on 1,200.

Credit Limit <7> [3]   Determines the maximum number of credits that can be accumulated.

Upper Jackpot Limit <7> [4]   This page is not displayed if the jackpot to credit option is disabled.
Allows some hand pays to be directed to the credit meter.
This limit is the maximum number of credits that can be directed to the credit meter.

Bill Acceptor Credit Limit <7> [5]   Determines the maximum number of credits that can be accumulated
before the bill acceptor is disabled.
This limit must be less than or equal to the credit limit, or a maximum of $3,000.

Partial Pay Amount <8>   Determines the number of coins paid from the hopper when a jackpot is hit,
before a hand-pay lockup condition occurs.  The value cannot exceed the hopper or jackpot limits.

I want my machine to lockup on jp's of 1000 or more, and play the jp music.... And just turn the reset key to add the credits.

Just a couple of clarifications.

First, on an S+, there isn't any jackpot "music" per se, just a very basic, "dink dink dink dink dink dink dink dink dink dink dink dink...." sound if you hit a jackpot that causes the machine to lock up (based on the JP limits you set).  Second, when you turn the JP reset key to unlock it from its jackpot condition, the credits will not get added to the meter -- only the remaining credits you already had will be there.  I'm not sure if there's a jackpot-to-credit option for S+ chips, but the normal behavior is to just clear those credits as in a casino environment, you would have been paid by hand.

Chip SP731 does have a selection of different Music (again rather limited) but it only works on certain themes like Bullseye.

The optional sounds were removed in newer chips to make way for more accounting features.

OK, thank you! That should get me started in the right direction. I mainly deal in Bally machines, IGT seems more complex them I'm used to.
