Vision Sound Wiring

I'm starting to see a lot of similarities between the Vision and the S2000 platforms.
However, the Vision LCD computer uses a slightly different sound wiring harness set up?
I have no problem making harnesses but what I'm having trouble finding out is the
way the speaker wires are supposed to go with the Vision set-up and
using the S2000 amplifier board at the same time.

The LCD computer has a 4-pin Molex and a 2-pin Molex connector on it.
I've plugged the 2-pin Molex connector from the tray speaker into amplifier board.
I've also plugged the 4-pin Molex from the top box rear left area into the amplifier board and
the other end into the back of the LCD computer.
 What goes into the 2-pin Molex connector on the LCD computer?
Is there supposed to be a modified 2-wire harness spliced into the one that's going into
the amplifier board or is there supposed to be another harness
coming from the amp board into the LCD computer?  

The weird thing is that the schematics for the Vision don't
even mention the amplifier board we normally use.  
However, I remember seeing a photo from Bettorslots one time where the speakers wires in a
Vision went to both the amplifier board and the LCD computer?

I'm getting conflicting sounds playing from the top speakers and the tray speaker.
The tray speaker appears to be playing "enhanced" sounds from the MMlite board
on the MPU board,....while the top ear speakers
are playing different sound bytes from the LCD computer?  
Any help on the wiring set-up in the Vision top box would be fantastic!  
Below is a drawing from the manual but it doesn't show the amplifier board?

Hello SB

According to the wiring Diagram I have the speakers are connected directly to the vision LCD. The vision LCD is equiped with 2 * TDA7360 which are 22w amplifier chips. I think the schematic I have is for the same early vision with the flat speakers that appear in the diagram you posted.
The later version vision with the "Ear" speakers does however use the amplifier board. Still trying to figure out why this is needed if there is an on board amp. I dont have any of these machines left but I do have some harnesses stripped from some we scrapped. IGT part number is 607-461-05. I dont seem to have diagram for this harness will have to trace it out.

In the meantime the attached diagram will give you an idea of what goes where on the LCD's harness.

Thank you for your input! 
That is the same wiring schematics I was referring to however...
It only shows the harness for 2 speakers - not for 3 speakers.
It doesn't show the wiring for the amplifier board either...lol
Because of this, I can't get the sounds come out right.

There must be a different drawing some where for the
607-461-05 harness like I remember seeing in Bettorslots photograph.
I gotta find that picture somewhere - it will help.

So, as far as I can tell, sound from the game on the Vision is mono feed to the LCD, and then is broken out to both speakers from LCD.

I really should learn to use a schematic editor again - Here is a rough draft of the wiring harness I pulled from a vision with Amplifier assembly.

Basically you have 2 lines coming from the machine and going into the 2 pin connector on the LCD.
All 4 ouputs from the VisionLCD go to the amplifier board. These are already amplified . The amp board uses a low pass filter connected to both channels to create the amplified bass signal for the tray speaker. The 2 wires from the amp go back to the machine connector and down to the tray speaker.

There are several jumpers on the amplifier board. I have not studied the schematic but i suspect these tell the amp what kind of input signal to expect.

J4 and J6 - Pins 1 and 2 jumped.
J9 and J10 - Pins 2 and 3 jumped.

Let me know if this makes any sense :>

I will try it in a couple of hours when I get home. 
I'm going to gather up some pins and housings and make a harness tonight!

Well...uh...I found another way to do it by plugging all the Molexes
into the back of the LCD computer...lol
Then I realized something?!?! (Bunker sees something...uh oh)

I don't have the cover on the back of the LCD right?
I noticed two long 64-pin board headers. Hmm...?
I wonder of a MMLiteII board would fit in there?
Ah!!! Let's do it for in the name of slot education...stick it in there!!! 

Yep....it sure does!
So I stuck in a DVS00032 sound card onto the board and
shoved the MMLiteII board onto the 64-pin headers....
fits perfectly! 

Does it work? Sure does...listen to the sounds now! It sounds great! 
Thanks for pointing out the fact that the LCD computer has built-in sound amps TZ! 
Now I know why they put them there!
There's absolutely no need to use the S2000 amplifier board anymore...lol

You hear the 3-4 little beeps every now and then?
That's coming from my camera - not the machines' speakers.
For some reason my camera's been picking up the sounds of it's own shutter going...lol
I think it's time for a new video camera...anybody got one cheap they don't use?

I just want to take this moment to thank a whole bunch of people
here on NLG for helping get this puppy up and running!
I must give especially a warm thanks to a new found buddy named Cushmanman. 
Without his help and donations, I would have never got this LCD computer going.
There's so many more I want to give thanks to including the funniest guy that tried to kill me last week!
Brichter somehow found it convenient to try to give me a crash course at 3AM E.S.T. in DOS commands.
I was like dead tired for two days after that!

There's many more guys I cannot even begin
to give thanks to but if you guys see this...

I was just going to post the same question. I have never heard about plugging a MMLII in there, also I have never had a full Vision machine either!

Sure, but we still are wondering what it sounds like without the MMLBII installed! We are nosey "efers" that want to compare the sound differences! I don't even have a vision, so I really don't know why I am curious, other than for knowledge and learning purposes?

ok technical stuff 1st>>>
To tell you guys the truth...I don't think it needs an MMLite II board at all! lol
The sounds are stored in a file in the PCMCIA card that one of our members sent to me!
( I know this because I put it in my laptap and... uh...."read" it... LoL )
I also got a cheap PCMCIA desktop "slot" that snaps into my desktop motherboard
and I can slip in PCMCIA cards into that as well.
For kicks I pulled out the MMLite II board that I installed into the LCD computer and sure enough - 
I still had the Double Diamond Run sounds.
However, I lost the sound to the bottom coin tray speaker 

So I shoved the MMLite II board back into the LCD computer and
the coin tray speaker came back on?!
The funny thing, is that when I put the board back in - I
forgot to put in the DSV00030 Simm sound card and yet I STILL had the DD Run sounds??

I'm thinking that the MMLite II board just activates some sort of IC component
to direct and split the sounds into a 3-way speaker system?
Sounds far fetched but that's what happened.
I will experiment with it more tonight perhaps with a pair of Bose, Polk, or Canton speakers...lol

As a side note, my wife heard the machine from the living room and
came in to see what the heck I was doing...
She has perfect hearing and remarked that the machine sounds a whole lot better.
Coming from her - that's the ultimate compliment to my "tinkering" around...

Looks like there header connections there for a keyboard
and mouse and a separate VGA screen....

Found these on the internet Hmm...
Looks like the older style used a 5-pin connector while the newer Mini-DIN used 6-Pins.
Apparently IGTman used the older AT keyboard with the 5 pins.
He never reported back online whether or not it worked though.
The thread died in 2008...lol...I hope it was just the thread... >>>

They used to make adapters that convert from AT to PS/2 for the keyboards.... I will look around to see if I have any of them stockpiled in old inventory! Your adapter direction is more rare though.
