have 2 s2000 5 reel non vision machines, that have the mm2 lite and sound simm, that i cannot get multimedia sound settings on, it only says stereo, no enhanced legacy. run the sound test and can hear all the sounds for the spin and stops, and roll ups. did i miss a step?? or do i need to turn something on key or clear chip menu.????

That's because of your SB chip.. most likely your max bet is higher than 45 on both.

OK, now I'm lost, yes they are 180 credit, but my Cleo is 90 and it still supports enhanced sounds, one has 597 Sb chips, one has 363. and neither will do enhanced. so what is the difference?

Are you doing your adjustments within the multimedia section of the game programming?

Are you trying with 0 credits on the machine also? I've only made a few changes on my sounds before. Usually after a few crown and cokes. And then I have to go back the next day and fix what I changed, but in either state of mind I've never had a problem getting into that programming as long as there were no credits on the machine. KEY17 only gets you into keychip configuration stuff. When you go to 3.2.6 it won't let you in?

On most SB chips above 45 credits the enhanced sounds were omitted. But there's a way to make them work if you use a hex editor on the chip.. but I'm not sure how

The SB is the Slot Base Chip and controls the Max Bet and Hold %. The SG is Slot Game Chip and controls the game and sound options and The DSS chip is the Digital Sound and is control by the SG chip. Do you have the correct SB and DSS chips? Check the PSR.

Brian    I have this 4 reel I've been working on, it takes 180 credits and has Multimedia sounds.
Monitorman  I have machines with SG000363 and SG000598 and I get multimedia sounds out of all of them.

rarestamx  Let me see if I can help. ( you must remember I'm not real bright ) go to where you set the sounds to stereo, that's where we will start.
 3.2.6.1   Stereo
 3.2.6.2   Attract Time
 3.2.6.3   Attract Volume
3.2,6.4   Reel Spin Options  This is where you will find the enhanced sounds. Press spin and go in and look around, press max bet to save what looks good to you.
 3.2.6.5   Hand Pay Options
3.2.6.6   Roll Up Options   Go into this one  and look around at the enhanced sounds.

All sounds and volume can be changed with credits on the machine   No need to be in Key menu

A little bit Off Topic   One day I tried a little experiment, I used a S 2000 3 reel Wild Cheery machine. It had SG000363 Game Chips. I switched only the game chips to SG000129 The game played fine with these installed. I them switched  to SG000523 same results the game played fine. Now what did all this prove? I don't know other than the fact that the game chips do not control the game play. Why they are called Game chips, you will have to ask IGT.  Blueridge is the one that turned me onto this idea and he said there are some exceptions to the rule of using only SG000363.  I did have trouble with a 4 reel and had to use SG000598 the SG000363 would not work.

I think the SG chips really only matter with more than 3 reels. 363's won't run a 5 reeler and such

Doesn't the  SG, PSR tell you the games it is compatable with?

Good Morning,
According to the SG000363 PSR, the SBxxxx base chip has some
sounds on it as well as the paytable info.
I believe the SBxxxx is much more "Game" specific rather than the SGxxxx GME 1&2 chip pairs -
which can run more than a few games.

Would I be incorrect in saying that the SBxxxx will control both the DSVxxxx Simm card
AND play whatever sounds are programmed into itself?

I need to post a retraction. After intensive modifications, evaluations, and extensive testing ( I changed the Game Chips and keyed with a Key 17) G000363 game chips will work in a 4 reel S2000  absolutely no change in the sounds or performance from the SG000598.

I think when I tried the 363's earlier I had other issues, hell I know I had other issues A bad mother board, a bad audio amp ( old amp would get to hot to touch, but would still drive one speaker, plug in second speaker and all button lights would go out )  door IO's hooked backwards, and a dumb S**t working on it !!!   Now just have to figure out how to mount dog ear speakers in place of the Vision speakes ( One of IGT's better ideas how can you use the Vision box type speakers with a printer in the way?)

We use to have a expression when I was in the service " Your SOL "  ( Sh*t out of Luck ) Hey I don't make them up I just repeat them. That's all I can remember anymore, just the stuff I should forget.

The machine I've been testing in this little experiment is a Triple Red Hot 7s 4 reel. So I moved over to a Big Time Pay 3 + bonus reels. It act's just like your machine, it will not go past 3.2.6.3 Matter of fact I have two Big Time Pay and they both will not go past 3.2.6.3.     I think you need to call in the "A Team"  I'm out of ideas   face in palm face in palm

I'm thinking the "Version" chip controls/allows what options you have.
Are the version chips similar in both machines in question?

Bunker The only version I use is VS011GX1   I could put a different one in the No Time Pay and see what happens, but I think we did all this with Jason. ( 106 post and it still sounded the same )    stir the pot / get cooking stir the pot / get cooking stir the pot / get cooking

lol...I stayed away from that thread...
okay...I'm all out of ideas on this.
I don't have Simm card readers nor do I know anything about programming them.
All I know is the dipswitches on them need to all be in one direction...lol
Why it doesn't allow someone get into the 3.2.6.4 option,to screw around with sound options,
is beyond my knowledge at this time.

There's hope though!
I may know more about this by this time ...uh...in a couple of years... rotflmao
