How do I convert a S+ normal 5 times pay to a double spin 5 times pay

Make sure there's no credits on the machine or you wont be able to do any configurations.

Yep, I've got a ramclear chip.

I do have credits in there.  I can't help but play in between chip swaps.

Maybe if I cash out all my credits, it will work?

Okay, I think I see where the issue is.  The good news is you shouldn't need a clear chip or another SET chip.

Yes, please play out or cash out your credits.  We should have this up and running in a couple of minutes.

Please turn off the machine and check the dip switches.  Please set 5 to on, 7 to off.

Press the self test button until you see a 0 in the window.  Turn the jackpot reset key until you get to option 31.

Press the spin reels button until the option changes to 3.

Keep pressing the self test button until you get to page 9 -- that's where you can set up your progressive as you did in the past.

Let us know if that worked.

Its still not working.  I've got the SP810 chip back in.
Dips 1-5 are on, 6-8 are off.
The progressive options aren't coming up.

The credits when I powered back were actually at 0 and maybe because of the battery issue below.

Here's a newbie mistake that I haven't mentioned yet.
At one point, I got a 12 error in the winner paid and saw that my battery wire attachment on one side of the battery had broken off.
I'm pretty sure it broke off when I really jostled the motherboard pulling straight up on it when taking it out and I slipped a bit.  I am very careful now.

I actually did solder this back on for now and its working, but its not a good solder so I'll have to replace this.

I'm pretty sure I had credits on there when I was doing these chip changes originally. 
When my battery came off would that change any important settings?

It needs the battery to retain the settings, yes.  We want to eliminate any potential source of issue, so do get that battery secured with a good connection.

Did you do this part?

Press the self test button until you see a 0 in the window.  Turn the jackpot reset key until you get to option 31.

If you don't change that setting, I believe it defaults to a linked progressive, which is not the correct setting (and would explain why your meter isn't working).

Here's what I see and am trying to follow the PSR.

When I hit the self test here is what comes up.
My first push is showing a "2" in the credits and nothing in coins played. 
Is this the accounting comm type?  If so, it looks like its setup for SAS.
I didn't change this setting.  Maybe this is a default
When I had my SP731 chip in there it wasn't like that.
Do I need to make this a zero again.

Edit: I put the accounting comm type at 0 and no luck.

My next push is a 000 in winner paid with 0 coins - This looks like the SAS comm address

The next one that comes up is 00 in winner paid with o coins - is the wamm/ccom address?

The next one is 5__2 and 0 coins.

Option 31 never comes up.

Sorry, I may have been slightly off in my directions.

Once you get to the 5_2, then start turning the jackpot reset key until you get to option 31.

I am very happy to report that after I got on the phone with garetmax
and walking thru the set up for the mini photon display,
we got it going!!!

That did it.  That's a bit tricky there where once your at the 5_2 then you need to use the jackpot reset key only and not the test switch to get to those options.
Pretty tricky for a newbie like me anyway.

The other tricky part for me was having credits in there.

Stayouttadabunker even called me and we stepped through the procedure and options on the phone which was fantastic.

Sorry I am late on this one.......

But I still think it is important to note that when you use one of the internal IGT progressives
You need to use a Set chip to set the denomination of the machine.
Otherwise when you get to the % for the progressive it doesn't know how much to take.

SO with this particular game chip a Set015 or similar would be fine. The game chip is too old to be used with a Set 90.

Then you get to the progressive options in the regular setup.

Now that he has the SP810 running with a 5 Times Pay Double Spin, should we tell him about the music selection option?      


Press the test button until you get to the song test. Pressing the spin button plays the current song, Turn the jackpot key to step through the seven songs available.
The downside is that the second spin is so short that you never really hear much of the selected song, but choosing different selections still makes a difference.

Once Garetmax hears the song choices he'll be after a 4^th of July or Coral Reef kit.

Jay, I think that if the DBV is not enabled, you can freely change the denomination from within the standard setup options in the machine.  I could be wrong on this one, but I'm pretty sure the restriction with the set chip only applies when a dbv is enabled. Then again maybe the progressive being enable curtails that too?  This is what I get when I just mumble about endlessly.

With the progressive set up options you have: Reset Amount, Current amount, Max amount and Incremental amount based in %
Unless you set a denomination - and a set chip is the only way to set a denomination - I can't see the progressive incrementing.
That does beg the question - I wonder how a set chip would behave without a DBV actually installed ?

With the linked Mikon stuff, %% coins vs $ is all set in the PSP software.
