I have an S+ with a 1048 chip, no credits on machine and DIP switches 1-3 on, all others are off. The bill validator and the coin  validator all work.  I have moved the sound volume switch on top of the MPU, with no luck. The speaker wires are connected to the speaker and futher up on the wireing harness.  I have no sound at all. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Apx how many times do I push the test button before the 2-0 appears.  Usually I get the 5-0 after a couple of test button pushes.

You have zero sound (no coin-in sound, no dinging when you win, no nothing), right?  That's not going to be a dip switch or menu setting.

You said that you've moved the "switch" on top of the MPU board -- were you talking about rotating the blue volume dial?  Did you hear any static or anything when you rotated it?

This was a first for me, but it turned out the speaker was bad.  I plugged in another speaker and the sound worked fine.  Thanks for your help.
