Ok I have two 3902 MPU boards.  I had hex breaker in one and played it for about 3 weeks. I have rainbow riches in the machine now on the other MPU.

Tonight I went and swapped MPU boards....
I get EEPROM error I tun the key
I get ram error I turn the key and press test for two seconds

Then it repeats endlessly. -

I guess my question is even with two MPU boards must I use a clear chip?? Keeping the same software...

Normally no.  But you'll most likely have this time to get out of the loop.  Get a second eeprom and swap it along with the board, then you keep your setup/credits too.

I've read a lot about this EEPROM on the backplane but don't know much about it.

jdk-

Here was the original post that Tilt made about modding the EEPROM to the MPU board to make game swaps easy.

I know I know.... I would love to do this - I just don't have the equipment (or the balls) to do it myself.    I told tilt he could make some money if he did the mod for some cash.

Your EEPROMS will be on the way tomorrow.  I just do this for fun, it's a hobby for me.  If I started modding boards for $$$ that would make it more like work and take the fun out of it.  So.... I think I'll stick with it as a hobby. yes
