Now that I got some other projects out of the way I think today I'm going to
strip out an IGT 2000 w/aluminum cabnet and see is I can make it less flimsy.
The aluminium cabnet are like a piece of rubber. They flex all over. They suck.

This is how crappy the cabnet is. I'm not pushing that hard.

What I did was strip cabnet out - Jack so it's in place - Put L brackets in corners to support.
Now it's a lot solider.
I DO NOT like alum. cabnets, even if they don't weigh as much.
Now I can get ready for snow & wind this afternoon.

On y 2000's that are steel you have a little door sag. On the aluminum one it was getting that the door sagged 3/4 to 1 inch.

I guess mine is just a weak cabnet. I'll have to look @ other aluminum and see if they are as bad as mine.

The one time that a floor tech decides to lean on the door -
is the last time that door will ever be straight.  Tongue Out

For the record, a friend of mine had some S+ machines in his shop that had aluminum cabinets.  They came off a cruise ship, and I'm guessing they had requested them so they would weigh less.
