Just picked up a some new sigma 1700 machies a few weeks ago. Some of them have an LCD screen which I have never seen on the sigmas before . When the machine sits at the casino it goes into some kind of attract mode every few minutes so the screen changes once in a while but at my house it sits with credits in it all day & with credits in it the screen stays the same (unless someone is playing that is)
So my question is can an LCD get screen burn from sitting on the same screen all day?  Scratch Head

Question is...why would you have it on all day?
Do you leave everything else in the house on all day?  Scratch Head
All you need to do is open the door and flip a switch.
While it boots up, you can go to the bathroom.
When you're done - the machine will be ready to play! yes

As a matter of fact I do leave everything on in my house all day. rotflmao Just kidding.I'm not talking about leaving them on all day all the time.But when I have family & friends over the machine can be on for hours at a time.Theres nothing like walking into the house & seeing all the machines lite up...pretty cool... yes
I don't know about all machines but the sigmas (depending on the game) take a long time to load.I don't spend that much time in the bathroom anymore after the wife made me take the slot machine out of there. bust gut laughing

I may be wrong, but I don't think LCD burn-in is something home slot owners need to worry much about. Leaving your machines on for one or two days at a time when friends are over doesn't even come close to the 24/7/365 they see in casinos. If the game has an attract feature that changes the display while it's idle, then burn-in becomes even less of an issue.

The article also states that leaving an LCD with a persistent image turned off for a few days or longer will reverse the problem. I also read that on a couple of other sites.
The best way to remove a persistent image is to display a bright white screen for a period of time, but that might be tricky on a slot machine.

I'd like to add that the S2000 Vision DOES have that option
of turning on the LCD screen to all-white if you desire.
Why? I don't know...maybe for the reasons you've stated but
I think it's for to just check the screen for burned out pixels?  Scratch Head 3
You can turn the LCD all-black as well.

FWIW, I had a laptop that got burn in of the LCD down by the Start menu button and clock corner. Nothing I tried ever got rid of it.

I used to have a DVD you could play on your LCD TV if you had a CNN logo or weather channel logo burned in the corner. It went through various colors staying on each for awhile then it ended with broadcast snow. Said in the manual the fast movement of the snow would help reset the crystals or something. I had a dark corner from the non-HD channels I watched, the DVD did lighten it up, I lost interest after that. I'm sure if I would have used it a time to two more it would have completely cleared it up.

The liquid crystal is technically not capable of burn in.
However screen burn in IS caused by the concentrated back lighting of a stationary LCD object.

To clear it you basically have to replace the UV filter screen. In most cases this is integrated into the LCD panel and is not replaceable.
