GAME KING BILL VALIDATER TROUBLE SHOOTING

Hi
I have a game king that i mainly use for I GAME play.All worked fine before my most recent game change.After doing the clear,and then adding game chip the game works fine,but now the bill validater only works part time.It has a flashing green lite.It will only take a few bills when the lite is solid green,like maybe 3 one dollar bills and a five.then the lite go to blinking green.then after a few spins in the game.the lite gos green to where i can insert new bills,i insert the same bills that i inserted 5 min before,it takes them in and spits them back out.Now today the bill validater lite has been solid green blinking all day.Dose anybody have any trouble shooting steps,i have removed the bill head,opened it up and cleaned the glass.Its a MEI BILL VALIDATOR 6602.All worked fine before the most recent game change.Do i need to re insert key chip to change a setting?I did post under the MEI VALIDATOR but received no replies.THANKS ANY AND ALL HELP.

It sounds like your bill acceptor limit is set too low.  You can check it by pressing the self test button on the MPU, then touch Setup->Machine Options->Limit Setup (or Credit Style Setup, depends on your software).  It can be changed without using a keychip, but you can't have any credits on the machine.
