When you send a mpu board off for repair what do they repair? Just the small stuff? Do they repair the program chips if needed.

Repair an MPU board? I would think it's a lot cheaper to replace it than repair it unless it's a very rare board. Any board from the mid 90's to the most current S2000 models can generally be replaced for $20 to $100. In any case, repair shops generally fix what's broken as going beyond that would be cost prohibitive. As far as chip sets that are bad, same thing, whatever you're willing to pay for.

Hey junkman, You can contact any of the sponsored dealers at the top of this website page.

Or you can post a "want to buy" ad in the classified section of NLG.

Or you post in the bally forum of NLG.

Any of the above will probably point you in the right direction.

Do you know how to replace a computer chip Junkman?  If so than you can fix it yourself.  Are you sure its the wrong chip though.  What do you have and what do you need?

hi mark. I can replace chips the problem is finding the one I need for the game I have it is a 1989 bally 5000 plus five grand. Yes its the wrong program chips because the glass says its a 3 max coin bet and it will only take two coins and sends the third to the coin tray and when you spin and it hits it does not pay out the right amount other then that the machine plays good now. When I got it. It done nothing the guy I got it from said all it needed was programing. Ya. But anyway I have got everything working but this like I said the payouts don't match the glass. And the machine will only take 2 max bet and mine on the glass is 3 max bet if you search. Nlg I have posted pictures of what I have. Under bally five grand. I sure would like your help with this so I can finish this machine. Thank you so much for your time. Terry

I just looked I dont have anything for the 5000-plus.  Email or call any one of the shops shown at the top of the NLG web site (sponsors).  You may have to dig a little to find these chips.  The 5000 Plus is not as popular as other platforms.  You have a good photo of you current EPROMS though: http://newlifegames.net/nlg/index.php?topic=10928.msg94988#msg94988

Good luck,
