Is there supposed to be an actual bell sound when you hit a jackpot on an s2000 machine? All I get is the ding, ding, ding sound.

Only if a bell is installed and enabled in machine sound options.
Also depending on if you have the Multimedia Lite II board installed or not you can change the handpay sound to enhanced.

On the wall...
It's big and round and gray in color.
If you don't see anything like that in your machine - you don't have one.  arrow

IT is maounted below reel shelf near the center
Probably uses the same studs that mount the Back lit controller.
