In every man's life there comes a point when he's been there, done that.  I'm starting to fear that I may be getting to that point with S2000's.  Why you ask?  So when I started out, there were all kinds of machines, kits, etc.  I started out with a Jackpot Jungle S+ that lasted about a year.  Then I learned that most S+ have the same sounds, so it didn't make much sense for me to go to another S+ since all it would really be is different visuals, nudge, spin til you win, haywire, etc...with the same sounds more or less.  Then the S2000's caught my "multimedia" attention.  I started out with a RW&B Big Times Pay.  Cool game, but I wanted different spin sounds and that game was limited to the legacy S+ spin sounds...even though the Big Times sounds were cool.  Sold that one to Magicslots.  Then I went to a Triple Lucky Sevens kit which I sold to brichter after only 2 weeks of owning it, but man that DSV00042 SIMM stole my heart!  Now I find myself with a Triple Diamond Haywire, Double Diamond Deluxe, Red White & Blue, and Double Diamond Strike kits because they are cool games and some have nudge, haywire features that I really like.  Plus Diamond/RWB games are classic titles that I'll always appreciate.  I also have a Crystal Sevens kit because the visuals and sounds are unique and so cool too.  Anyway, so back on point...

There are several other themes out there, but most of them appear to use the DSV00042 sound.  Not interested in shelling out anymore cash to just change glass and strips only have the same DSV00042 sounds.  Here's where I'd like your .02.  I'm pretty much down to the following themes that would require a unique theme specific DSV SIMM:

1.  Mummy (I keep telling myself that it will happen someday)
2.  Tabasco
3.  Jeannie

Are there any other S2000 themes out there that are non-DSV00042 themes that have a unique DSV SIMM that you guys think highly of?

Thanks,
Jason

I've always like the "Munsters" theme playing.
Some guys like the "Wild Thing" sounds...but I'm sure they just like looking at that spur... Tongue Out

It appears to me that you are graduating to the newer and newer stuff.
I see a trend with this...look at cowboy's posts! He's selling them off to get a Denver Duck!
Our beloved Capt Happy went out and got himself a 5 reeler machine!
Munch used to have Bally 5500's now he's in the WMS threads...lol

It's all a matter of personal tastes and how much money you want to spend...
Personally my "Holy Grail" is a WMS transmissive reels machine like the "Wizard of Oz"
or something like that.
I'm sure that'll change in 6 months... rotflmao

But for just plain messing around, I find it very hard to beat the S+ and S2000's.
The prices for parts are not out of this world because they're rapidly depleting and
moving out of the mainstream casinos and guys are parting them out like nuts.

It won't be too long before we'll start buying those fancy big lighted spin buttons and
$125 overpriced 5 reel units will be a thing of the past.

IGT had to clean up a little before they could reproduce the Wild things, this is how the girls look originally

I've always liked the looks of Triple Red Hot 7's.  I could be tempted with that one, but it's probably a hard one to find.  Does this one use a DSV00042 as well or is it a unique sound package?

nearby casino but all he said was that the speakers are working fine...  Duh!  frying pan

I thought about that too, but from a cost perspective casinos would have to spend a lotta dough to get MML2 boards and DSV's for every machine.  It seems like a way to save money in this economy.  Lotta the machines I played on my last trip were running bare bones sound wise.  Plus, can you imagine trying to hear a Crystal Sevens in a crowded casino?  Even WITH the volume turned up.

yeah most of our s2000 cabinets have me MML2 in them but there are a handful that have the sound simm sitting in the bottom of the cabinet for the day when we can get the purchase approved.  you shoulda seen the tribal gaming regulatory agents freaking out when we started leaving the simms in the machine cabinets; a few of them actually wanted to investigate and punish those responsible for "leaving game software unsecured."  it was pretty much squashed when i showed them an unsecured storage cabinet in the shop with a mix of about 500 old simms piled up.   arrow  applause

Jason I wouldn't think their to hard to find. I have a one line,  5 line, 9 line and a four reel. ( not kits, machines ) And I don't use a 42, I have some super secret SIMMs that sound pretty damn good!!!!

Have you guys tried using a Top Dollar or Double Top Dollar simm instead of the DSV 42?  Those simms must have a dozen different reel spin sounds.  Roll up sound is different too.  Of course the game being played must support enhanced sounds or you can't get the cool sounds  if it doesn't.

I haven't tested it, but if somebody can confirm that either of these SIMM's work with DSV00042 supported games, I'd gladly buy one.

Scratch Head  Scratch Head  Scratch Head  Well if there is a list of simms that will cross over well, I would love to have it.
I absolutely LOATHE legacy sounds.  I know the chips have to support "enhanced" sounds, but just getting rid of the
legacy sounds is a worthwhile endevour to me.  I dont want my S2000 to sound like my S+   no  no  no  no  no
