HI all.  I looking for some advice on which slot to purchase and from where.  From my limited research I am considering a WMS BlueBird or an IGT with the 044 setup.  A local dealer to me has a dual screen blue bird for about 5k.  He also has an IGT with 044 hardware and 19" screen for about half the price if the Blue Bird.  I was thinking about doing the GameKing 6.0 on the 044 setup.  However the BlueBird seems to offer some great games.  Any advice which way to go would be greatly appreciated.  Also would it make any sense to upgrade an IGT 039 to an 044, I have seen these for about $1500.  Thanks

Welcome to the site, robbo!

If you're more into video poker games, IGT is the standard, but there are a couple of nice looking VP games available for the Bluebird, too.  If you're more interested in slot games, I think the Bluebird would be the way to go.  If you're running the Game King software on the IGT, the slot games are crummy compared to the Bluebird.

If money were no object, but you could only buy one, I think I'd lean towards the Bluebird.

For what it's worth, $5K for a dual screen Bluebird sounds to me like a better deal than $2.5K for a 044 Game King, but that's just one man's opinion.

Personal preference plays a huge roll here too....

You need to look at the titles available for both platforms and see what you like better.   Also look at the cost of the software.  044 games tend to go for $400 a pop where BB games run $75 to $200 depending on the title.

A few games and both platforms are within the same price range.
