Hey guys, I just picked up a Aristocrat Microstar 3 reel slot from 1987.
It's called Magic Time. Seems fairly basic, but not much info out there on them.
I'm currently searching for a driver board for it, as the original has some burnt components.

I'm hoping you guys can answer my newbie questions for me...  Hail

If I have no driver board, well I do, but plugged in and it smokes  knockout but the other main board is still working. Is there any way I can begin testing the slot to see if it works ? At least if the reels will spin etc.
When it powers up the lights work, and it beeps a few times and that's all. No digital display or credit counter etc, and no other responses.

Also, the machine uses the old 20c New Zealand coins, these are not so easy to find. How hard would it be to change it over to the new 20c coins ? At least this way I could use it properly.

Finally, the topper has a "Jackpot" light, is this meaning that I could connect it to some sort of a jackpot system that could trigger whilst playing ?  I've seen a few in guys games rooms but I have no idea how they have them set up.

Many Thanks for your help guys, picture attatched.

Cheers,
Joe

Hi there,

Yes you should be able to go to ANZ Bank and ask for AUD 20cent coins,    I cant recall if you can convert to new coins on your machine been a while since I owned one..  Best of luck.
