I am looking for a upgrade of sound on my current 6000 machine, any suggestions? I want one that would be compatible with a "Bonus Times" or a "In The Money" I just got my 1st Bally game (Fireball) and would like to change it into a different game via another glass/reel kit and it is pretty crappy as far as sound, game play, etc. Any suggestions of a good game that is fun to play to convert it into? Also, does anyone know what type of game a "Wild Rose" is ( 5500 or 6000)?

Thanks,

David   205-396-5332

Hi David,
The platforms are S5500 and S6000.   Wild rose could be for either platform, it was a carry over game along with many others.  The glass and personality chips are compatible between the platforms  for machines without Pro Sound II.  There are 2 types of add on sound boards, the first one is called Pro Sound, the second Pro Sound II.  Pro sound works with your existing bottom box speaker (behind the tray), Pro Sound II adds 2 top box speakers and can easily be distinguished by the speaker grilles in the player tracking bar.  A non Pro Sound machine can be upgraded to a Pro Sound or a Pro Sound II by installing the parts.

Thanks,
Wayne

Jim at Blueridge should have them.  Jim is a member here and goes by the name of Blueridgeslots.  Look him up on the members list to get his contact info.  You will need the top box speakers, brackets, harness, PS2 board and sound chip.  You install these, disconnect your current lower speaker wires and attach the ones from the new harness....

Thanks,
Wayne

is this a major ordeal to convert to this style? I have converrted IGT top boxes before and have been working on pinball and arcade machines for some time now. I have been told that it may not be worth the effort, what do you think?

Thanks,

David

well you will also need the appropriate glass with cut outs for the speakers along with the glass bracket with speaker grilles.  You could just use a pro sound (not 2) board that hooks up to your current lower speaker.

Thanks,
Wayne
