Hi Folks,

now i've installed a hopper and a coin comparitor in my Bally Bonus Frenzy. The hopper worked fine for about two weeks and now i've got a 31 error at startup. 31 means a jam in payout area, the optic is blocked too long. But the optic is not blocked and i have changed nothing. The error just occured and i can't eleminate it. Reset and diagnostic #4 don't show any effect.

Just a compleate ram clear eleminates the error. Everything is fine and i am happy for a few hours. Then 31 appears again.

Can anybody help me? Is there a way to locate the error. Maybe dust in the optic or something similar?

Thank you!
Nico

Try cleaning the coin out optics on the hopper, check for loose connections, if these don't solve problem you can try replacing optics.

if i solve the reason of the problem will the maschine work fine without a ram clear? Do i have to do a ram clear everytime when i would check if the problem is solved? Normally the reset button is enough isn't it?

The funny think is, if i remove the hopper the error stays as well. Normal reset or diagnostic doesn't show anny effect. The error is still present, how could this be?
Please help me.

If you correct problem you should not have to perform Ramclear. Try opening and shutting door clear errors.

I didn't send you a hopper, maybe you should contact that vendor and see if they can send coin-out optics.

i know, but you sent me the parts i've needed for the coin comparitor, you remember? I just wanted to thank you for this.
I've got the hopper from another dealer. Do you have the optics? The other dealer was a wrong idea i think.

Greetings
Nico.

Make sure you have the correct shelf wheel and the coins are passing thru the optics, you might have to adj the optics..This is only when you get the code when hopper is trying to pay out it is not seeing the coin Pass

the coins are running right thru the optics i think. The machine pays out correctely, so it has to notice every coin with the optic right?

Yep it is seeing the coin. Check the connection where the hopper plugs in if it is loose it might work for a week then you get the smallest disconnect for a sec it will give you an error just like you unplug hopper with power on also check wires on optic make sure they are good
