Last week I picked up a VLC 8724for $50 I get it home and start checking it out I found it has a dead battery on the access board. I am now waiting for the replacement battery to come in some time this week. I managed to find a slot machine seller here in Houston that has a clear ROM he will use on it for $65. Dose this sound like a good price I think so but what are the chances I will not need to have the clear rom used on this machine?

Chances are pretty good that you'll need the reset ("zero") chip, but you might as well wait to change the battery before you commit to paying.

Is $65 a good price?  If he's making a housecall, sure, it sounds fine.  It's either $65 to him and getting a working machine, versus having a slot machine-shaped boat anchor.

For kicks, before you spend the money, try the instructions in this post after you change your battery (assuming the game still doesn't work after the battery change).
