I can not get my printer to work and was hoping some one could give me options settings.  If you could send the non-default settings I'd really appreciate it.

Note the printer works under the test function and will print 1 ticket after a complete ramclear.  After the first ticket is printed all the remaining go to a hand pay (I do not have a hopper so no coins payouts, has to be either a voucher from printer or a handpay).

thanks
Bob

Make sure validation is off or set to standard and not enhanced.  See option 73

14 Even Voucher Pay
The machine can be configured to print
redeemable vouchers in even values from 1.00
to 1,000.00.

64 Minimum Voucher Pay
The minimum value of a voucher can be
established.

67 Maximum Voucher Pay
The maximum value of a coupon or voucher can
be established. The maximum voucher pay must
be greater than Option 56, Credit Collect Lockup.
Software safeguards against conflicting values.
Example: In a 25¢ machine, the default for Option
67 is 8000, and the default for Option 56, Credit
Collect Lockup, is 800. Option 67 can be set to
any value between 800 and 9999. If Option 67
decrements, once 800 was reached, the next
decrement would be 9999 instead of 799.
Alternately, if Option 67 increments, once 9999
was reached, the next increment would be 800
instead of 0.
If Option 67 should need to be set to a value less
than 800 (500 for example), Option 56 would need
to be changed to 500 first, followed by Option 67
being changed to 500.
Machines with printers use Option 67 as Credit
Collect Lockup. Option 56 determines the
maximum number of credits as coins that will be
dispensed by a hopper, if one is installed; and the
Minimum Voucher Pay, overriding the setting of
Option #64, Minimum Voucher Pay.

73 Voucher Validation Level
0000 Standard—The voucher sequence number

increments. An eight-digit validation number is
calculated from the date and time. The information
is logged in the validation buffer and indexed by the
sequence number. The host is neither contacted
for validation, nor is it notified in advance of the
coupon or voucher being printed.
0001 Host Enhanced—The voucher sequence
number increments. A 16-digit validation number
is calculated from the machine validation ID
and the voucher sequence. The information is
reported to the host, and logged in the validation
buffer indexed by the sequence number. If
communication with the host is lost, the machine
will operate until the validation buffer is full.
Restoration of communication with the host and
subsequent reduction of records in the validation
buffer restores machine operation.
0002 Host Secure Enhanced—Similar to setting
0001, Host Enhanced, except that communication
must be maintained at all times. If communication
is lost during a cashout, the machine will lock up
requiring an Attendant pay before disabling with a
no communication (91-0) tilt.
0003 Host System—The host is contacted for a
voucher validation number. Upon receipt of the
validation number, the machine prints the voucher,
increments the voucher sequence number, and
stores the information in the validation buffer
indexed by the sequence number.

74 Voucher Expiration
The period of time when vouchers can be
redeemed can be configured.

Also on some games you have to set this in order to print but this is a last resort as I think you have to fake this one way or another.

98 Primary Host / 99 Secondary Host
A primary Host and secondary Host cannot both
use the same protocol. A dual Host system must
use a combination of SAS® (2.xx - 6.xx) and
SDS®. Primary Host must be set prior to setting
Secondary Host. Note: 78Hi still must be set.

Also set the machine SN and Location information.

jurisdiction can be another factor on validation so make sure to set it to NV but I am not sure which is the best for non-validation. We usually use NV or AZ

I tried the setting in the quote and still wouldn't print.

can you explain how to "fake" the settings?

Slotmaster,  I still haven't been able to get the printer to work.  Do you have a machine that does print?  If you do can you provide list of any non-default settings and how to set?
thanks

It's been awhile since I got it working so I don't have a 6000 setup with it working right now.  We have a few in the shop and I can see if I can try one next week.

I know for sure it's a pain to setup and some of the bally mains will not let you print a ticket without the host being online.

Standard Security is usually the Key to get it to work but you must also have the right jurisdiction that allows for printing without validating etc.

I have about 7 different sets of Mains,  Trying each set with different settings is a pain, but I will as time allows.  If you can check which mains, it would be a great help.

Thanks very much,

S6M4MM1B0008-00 U43 CS-400 BALLY 10-17-2005  cs-0400

Those are what I refer to as 2005 mains, I also have

S6M1000C0007-08   U28 2MB 06-13-03    2003 BALLY  CHECKSUM 4437
S6M4000C0007-08   U43 2MB 06-13-03    2003 BALLY  CHECKSUM C900

S6M1000A0008-00 ST U28 2MB CK-BAD3 06-22-2004 BALLY
S6M4000A0008-00 ST U43 2MB CK-2D00 06-22-2004 BALLY

as well as some without labels, if anyone has the dates or other info for the following then please let me know

U28 CAME WITH MACHINES CHECKSUM 0F9E  and   U43 CAME WITH MACHINES CHECKSUM 6200

U28 checksum-5046   and   U43 checksum ba00

I'm sure I have more but my wife cleaned up my eproms and where they went, I don't know.  If anyone has any other mains not listed, please let me know.

I have tried several setups for the 2005 mains and have moved on to the 2004 mains, so far only one prints then next goes to handpay, same as 2005 mains.

Thanks,
Wayne

Okay you's two...Bob and reho...
You guys better write all those settings down on a
piece of paper and stick it in the topbox.
Some casinos used to have plastic pouches velcro'd to the side
of the MPU board so the floor tech's can stick notes in them for the next shifts' floor techs,
and the next shift's floor techs, and the next shifts' floor tech's and the... angry-kitty Shaddup Bunker!!!

Printer mains don't act as leave in clears, and vice versa.  .

When I got this machine it have leave in mains in it and the printer worked perfectly. I lost those leave in mains because I broke a leg off one of them when I dropped it on the floor.
It worked before, it has to work again!!

Greetings all, I am hammering on the same issue.  I've burned a lot of time (and a lot of ROMs) going back-and-forth trying to get the printer to work reliably.

It looks like I will have to actually try these so-called "2003 mains" - I have 2006's and I finally got everything except the ticket printer working reliably.  I'm nervous!

Before I try to acquire 2003 roms, has there been any update in getting the printers to work with more modern ROMs or leave-ins, perhaps?

You need to use the 2003 mains, The 2006 do not support a printer in the home enviroment. Same with leave in mains, you need to run a backend ticket in ticket out program or one of the ones users here are playing around with to get the printer working with leave ins..
