Their are two different Sound Sims.
One is 8 mp, the other is 16mp.
I tried to use a 8mp,  DSV00022, Tabasco, on a Double Gold, on a 1270 board. I got a message, something like sound Sims not recognized. Took it out & replaced with a DSV00042 & that worked.
Some users on the board have had great success mixing the the Sims on various games. Is the 8mp suppose to work properly or do you need the 16mp to make it happen?
also are some SB game chips set so you can only use a certain sound Sims made for that game?

Side Bar,
What are the dip switches on the sound Sims for. I've never heard of anyone changing the setting.

We need some experts here,
thanks

Yeah, it's hit and miss.  Mixing SIMMs would a cool project to take on.  I'm still curious about trying a Top Dollar SIMM in a different game sometime.  I did throw my Mummy SIMM in my Triple Diamond Haywire, and as expected, it threw up an incompatibility message on the VFD.  No hawire sounds on a Mummy SIMM, not surprised.

Dipswitches?  Don't touch em.  Will screw em up permanently according to info I've been told.

Thanks,
Jason

Agreed on the DIPswitches -- Jim from Blueridge said that they're used for programming, only, and can cause damage to the data on the SIMM.  Best bet is to leave them alone.
