Does anyone know how to hook up a Keno light pen to a slant top PE+ video poker?
I found the Keno eproms that will work with my superboard and need to know how to hook up the pen.
Any info would be appreciated.

Hi,

There is a small driver board that plugs into one of the connectors on the outside of the Chasis (molex style white connector).
I think it is J4. Then the light pen connects to the driver board with the little 2 pin connector.
Its well documented in the PE+ manual.

This is on my list of "To Do" projects for myself.

Thanks for the fast reply!
Apparently I do not have the correct manual then because I could not find it, I only saw the info for the upright version.

Here is the section of the manual that you would want.

The slant and uprights are the same other than the coin elevator.
My bits came from a parted-out slant (as rude as that sounds) but will be installed in an upright eventually.

Let me know how it goes.

I see a J4 (6-pin)connector on the board in the back that the superboard plugs into, it is not a molex style though.
The document says it should be a 4-pin harness that the driver board connects to.
There are some empty molex plugs near the top in the back of the machine though, one is a 4-pin but there are no ID markings for them.
The problem here is that I do not have the the pen or driver board in my hands yet to see what is what.
I have heard that is was possible to do this(your reply confirms it), I just wanted to know how it is done before I make an "as-is" purchase and be stuck with something that does not work.

Thanks

I just dug up the manual . Its J206 or J207. I am pretty sure only one of those two don't have a harness on it now.
I am no where by my machine to look.

If anybody can help me out on this, it would be fantastic.
I got the Keno eproms today from April at Lemans.
I put them in and I keep getting a CMOS Data error, I can turn the jackpot reset key once and get into the statistical data for the keno but other than that I get nothing.
I talked to Terry at Lemans and he said it might be because I have the newer style superboard and the chips might be for the older style???
Before I bought them, April said they would work

How many chips were you given ?
If they are for the old style board there should be one fewer than in a new board.
If you have an extra chip in there vs a empty socket that would cause an issue.

Just press the White Setup Button and it should clear.

I was digging through some of my slot material and came across a lightpen harness pin out.

I have 3 light pens, 2 interface boards and 2 keno sets.
I haven't actually gotten around to putting this together.
I still need to build a harness

That double screen Keno machine IGT 301 is not one I have heard of.
Its only the manual for sale but I have never seen a double screen IGT before short of some of the newer stuff.

Does anyone have a picture of a double-screened keno machine?

There are still some in operation at the California casino in downtown Las Vegas.  I'll try and snap a picture or two on my next trip.  They do look like the one in the eBay auction that theDotster posted a link to, and they're OLD.

Does anyone know how to hook up a Keno light pen to a slant top PE+ video poker?
I found the Keno eproms that will work with my superboard and need to know how to hook up the pen.
Any info would be appreciated.
