ON  a  igt s2000 enhanced board the disply reads door open m . it needs a main battery (coin) (will get one) . there is continuity from cabnet optic harness purple and green to molex connector at the mother board . also from the door optic harness  red and green to the motherboard. I also swapped out both door and cabnet optics with a differant machine they work fine The belly door is wired together . the bill door switch is also connected.  i also changed the motherboard and CPU . any suggestions  .    thanks

You might try removing the reel glass so that you can see inside with the door closed.  Verify that the optics are actually in alignment as they should be.  You can even remove one and manually from it's holder and move it into place to make sure alignment is not the issue.

Do this test very carefully

Find a piece of wire or a couple of them.

First we are going to jumper the optics with only one wire, unless IGT messed with how it works on the enhanced board.
Unplug the optics.
Red with white stripe wire at the optics connector near the door latch to the cabinet optics connector green wire.

In fact I and Stout are using this method to use the cherry switch to take the place of the optics.

Then you can try doing it at the motherboard but be sure you are using the right 2 pins on the motherboard.

By the way just looked and the wire colors change between the door harness and main harness.

I MOVED OPTICS wires and held them together  with the door open and nothing changed on the display .the door / cabnet  and cash door wires all are on different molex connections on the mother board

Were you using a known-good MPU board when you swapped?  If the green battery leaked acid onto the board, one of the traces that tends to get eaten away causes random Door Open M errors.  Make sure that you're using a board that you know for a fact is good when testing.

Good point.  Also what clear chip are you using?...need to use a 224.  My pattern on any S2000 direct from the casino is to clear it 3 full times, giving it a couple minute rest between clears.  Sounds crazy, but I can tell you it has worked for me several times.

 Agree with Post
While I hardly ever use a Clear chip...
I've noticed that I get better clearing by flushing at least twice...

I actually remembered that when I was over at your place a couple of years
ago when you were showing me the clear procedure...

I do the same whenever wiping out an S+'s Ram...

don't complicate the troubleshooting process!!!  if your machine is booting up and there is actually a display with information on it should tell you that the machine is working to a certain degree. the S-2000 is like the S+ , they both have internal diagnostic tests that will tell you with no doubt what is working and what is broke. Use the tools that are in the machine to help troubleshoot itself. Don't try to fix something until you know its broke. you will only cause more problems for yourself.
the S-2000 can tell you if your door optics are working! go to the I/O tests  option #4,  enter into that menu, go to option # 4.1.3  Processor input test, scroll down to the MAIN door test, ( you will have to close the door and put down the latch for this test)  the display will show a 1 toggling to a 0 if the door optics are working as they should. you can do this test slowly so you can actually see where the optics are aligned (when the toggling begins) to see if they have to be adjusted.also the BV door can be tested as well ,scroll down for this test.  and yes don't forget most S-2000 have the belly door switch which is in series with the door optics, and could cause this.
Hope this helps
