I have a sample of 3m #465 transfer tape. Not real easy to get. They didn't want to give me a sample but changed their mind. They thought it was gold. The sample was 3/4 so I had to cut it laying on a piece of tile. I have 1/8 roll coming tomorrow.,from a different company.
I wanted to give the tape a test drive before making a purchase.
This stuff really works well. It's clear & thin.
When you use it be very careful where you put it on the reel end. You only get one try & it gets all messed up.
Very sticky but not permanent.
With my discount I don't think it costs that much. I'll know tomorrow.
I believe someone on the site said that is what I.G.T. uses. I don't really know.
Just a thought.
I would like to thank everyone for all their help, past , present, & future,
I.F.F.V.

That sounds like good advice.
Maybe Gorilla tape is for those really big slot machines.

I was googling it and I kept seeing 'permanent bond' in the desciption.  Scratch Head

Yeah, that is pretty much the 'standard' tape most folks use. I've never really needed anything stronger.

Heck! For a real strong bond so the strips never come off again...
pour an entire tube of Crazy Glue or Plumber's Silicone Adhesive into the basket slits
and jam the strips in there!  propeller

Try to get the clear liquid, real drippy glues so you can see
the symbols after you've slobbered it all over the place!

Hey! Why not kill two birds with one stone!
Make sure a little drips  down onto the reel shaft in the motor
( I've  heard this stops the noisy reels...stops the reels too!  yes arrow )
If the reels actually spin  when you power up the machine - you've done a fantastic job!  bust gut laughing

oh! I almost forgot to add that before everything dries,
make sure the jackpot symbols are on the payline.

That way afterwards - you can make pretend...

warning...do not actually try this at home...lol

I use Office Max double-sided tape.  I just removed some reel strips that I installed a couple of years ago in my S+, and the tape was still very sticky (but with some gentle pulling I was able to coax the strip apart without damaging it).

Tape,
I've tried the Double sided Scotch Tape. Red Label, Yellow, etc.
I have a couple sets of not so new strips & those mentioned tapes always come apart in  some places on the strip after a few spins.
If those work for others that is great. If it works why change, it's only tape.
I like a very tight seal & neat looking seams when I can get them.
The #465 transfer tape is less than a dollar a roll difference.
I only mentioned this to maybe help others who are looking for a different alternative.

Bunker,
Now I know why no one will buy reel strips from you.
That much glue may make you a little foggy.
Only kidding,
I'm sure you don't use a whole tube?

No offense intended at all, IFFV, and K+ to you for posting the info as it very well may help someone.  I just was adding in the source I use for "reel strip tape" that has worked for me.  yes
