Just been into the options for a S+ dozens of diamonds.
I could choose from different attract sounds.
Now i have set one but guess what.......

It's calling with a delay as short as 1 minute or something.....
After a while this becomes annoying so I had a look in my manual but could not find any settings for a longer delay in the manual.

QUESTION: Is it possible to make a longer delay between attraction sounds or NOT?

Offcourse, IF the answer is YES, then please advise HOW TO  Thanks

What SP chip? Do you have the PSR? All options should be listed in there. BTW, I didn't think many S+ chips supported attract.  Scratch Head

I've been told if you leave 1 credit on the machine it greatly extends the attract time without software adjustments. bust gut laughing

I agree which is why I asked:

But, I thought I had read somewhere that a that a few SPs did have it. And from the OP's previous posts, he has some oddball SPs.

It would seem the s+madhines could only have attract mode if it was set and limited options as their type of programming wouldn't generally support this function.

My S+ has 5 different attract tunes to choose from.

Generally it sounds like music from Beethoven,Bach, Tchaikovsky, or Pop Goes the Weasel... Tongue Out

By the way, the SP chip I'm using is SP1213.
There are no options for when the sounds play.
Basically, they choose to play whenever you don't want to hear it... Cry Laughing Cry Laughing

no, they added that to the options settings when they designed the S2000 platform.

Out of curiosity, what is the average time between them? Is it random at all, or a fixed time?

On mine I can set them from 0 to 10 minutes, with 0 being off in my S+ Barcrest. This is reached when you press the test button to 2-1 (or 2-0) and then the reset key to 59-5. I have these SP chips 1113, 1141 and 1261. There is actually 2 places that have to be utilized. Another place for the Barcrest Bonus is  reached when the test button is 2-3 flashing in the coins played window where you can set your volume, your light show and music tunes. Not sure if this helps but the SP chips I mentioned do support the attract mode in an S+ Barcrest at least.

BTW, the attract mode only works with NO CREDITS on the machine!

No! That's great Dale!
This can build a little list of SP chips that support this Option!

SP1113
SP1141
SP1213
SP1261
so far, four SP's are known!

I think the attract sounds that Dale mentioned come from the Barcrest unit, though, not the S+ sound generator.

Okay,
I will make adjustments to the little list of "Idle Mode Music Selections"...
I've always especially liked the SP1137 because of the Montana credits capabilities.
But it's not a Type 2 chip and won't work with Haywire Type 2 games which I love.
I only found only two SP chips that will work with Type 0,1 games.
Here's a few SP's with Attract Sounds I've found...

SP968 (Type 38 "Little Devils" only; also has volume control for attract)
SP978 (Type 33 "Top Dollar" only; also has volume control for attract)
SP1113 (Barcrest)
SP1137 (available in Type 0, 1, 4 ,5, 14 !!!)
SP1141 (Barcrest)
SP1213 (available in Type 0, 1, 4, 5, and 12)
SP1261 (Barcrest)

Are you sure about the SP1048? I am running that now in my Spin Till You Win and don't see an attract option in the PSR. It does have multiple tunes to select from though for the STYW feature. Or is it always on? I don't know if I have ever not had credits on the machine and had it idle.

SP1048 allows activation and selections of songs played
during the Spin Till You Win & 4th of July modes.
It doesn't have the "Attract mode"  sorry... Duh!

I may have overlooked that...arghh!!
Boy... that list is going to shrink after I go through the PSR's again...lol

ADD>>>Wow... did it EVER shrink! lol
I was only able to locate 2 chip with attract sounds that would work with the Type 0,1 games.
One of my favorite chips (SP1137) is still in there! lol
Thanks to Poppo for making go back and check those PSR's.

Apparently the ones I listed earlier can pretty much change the sounds
during a special spin that are available on Type 4 and 5 games.
I'm sure there's more for regular SP's that utilize Type 0,1 games.
I don't think there's any for the Type 2 Haywire games...though I've been wrong before...lol
