I should clarify...unless you are using one of the early game titles, like GK4.3 or Little Green Men...in those cases where the sound is eprom based...then you use a MM-1 daughter board.

Thanks Jim, It's Hex Breaker and it worked. Only thing is, all the Game Kings I have only have the speaker in the tray. Well I do have one with the Dog ears but the cabinet is so out of square you can't hardly get the door closed. I was going to junk it out, but maybe I will try a mod to the cabinet I've been thinking about.  I think all it needs is a mother board, and I have one.

Finally broke down and bought an IGT, slant top Texas Tea. What I want to do is convert this Texas Tea to a Multi-Game, Multi-Denom GameKing.
It has the 3902 board with a Multimedia Lite 2 board. At least I think it's a Lite 2 board, says MML2 on the sticker on the processor. Am I right?
What I want is the Version 5.3 GameKing software with the newer Caveman Keno.
Currently in the garage going through decontamination! Really smells like cig smoke and needs a good cleaning. And man is it heavy!!
It doesn't have a hopper or ticket printer. How do they get the machine to ignore that? And will I need to set that up after the game change?

So I have a shopping list;  Chip & Simm set for V5.3 GameKing.
Gameking glass for slant top, red prefered.
New rubber cover for armrest. Are these available?
Buttons, and/or legends for a GameKing
Oh yeah, a key chip to install software.   THANKS BUZZ!
Thanks in advance for any answers!

Jim

5.3 is SIMM and EPROM based.  Check with Jim at Blueridge.  If you want the set like the one I have, you'll want 5.3. (see my YouTube videos in my signature).

Have fun!

...also, I use a Key 22.  Works fine with a GK 4.3, 5.3, Super Times Poker 3-5-10 Play.  Maybe the 40 that Buzz mentioned is updated and works with Texas Tea.  I'm just letting you know what I'm using FYI.

Thanks,
Jason

I didn't say a word about Texas Tea !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  040 doesn't work in a I Game as for as I know.

I see where I got lost, I don't have any poker games that use a simm. I was thinking along the lines of a sound simm.

Jason why would I want 5.3 ?? As I remember not to long ago you were talking about getting rid of it.

Mr. Buzzard  Key 40 is the replacement for Key 22 and is for GK and I+ (actually the reason for replacing the 22 was for the Enhanced board Legacy Adapter)

but Jason 4.3 probably requires a Key 17 to use just as a Key and not Clear it too

But Buzz I am going to take this opportunity to post the combo key you made famous and retired off of since you opened the door by offering keys again and saying "I duuno"

I read somewhere where the key 40 chip was a replacement for the 22, so they both should work. (non WAP, keychip & memory clear)
And 39 replaced 21,
41 replaced 23, etc, etc   rotflmao

Opps, Jim beat me to it.

220, 221 whatever it takes.  Lol!

Buzz, I recently bought another 4.3 set from Cliff...nostalgic reasons.  5.3 is better in the graphics department on the home screen icons and Keno games.  Sound is also better compared to the EPROM based 4.3 chipset/MML1 board.  Gameplay...same.  5.3 will give you more poker games though.

5.3 is a facelift...bout all there is to it.
